Realistically can I become a good dancer from playing kinect games?

Going by the ops logic, I would be an expert marble, kung fu artist, Scientist, space marine etc etc and my partner would crush any kind of sweet invasion. I think games can give you an awareness of the subject matter but that is all. Unless you go for full blown simulation like a flight simulator.
 
If you do any moves from that video in a dodgy bar, instead of getting better at dancing you'll likely only have one of your arms chopped off by some light-sabre wielding monk type instead.

Ignoring the fact that everyone in Walkabout will likely already be drunk and not actually care about how someone is dancing, learning to dance like the pixels in that video will not help.

The ability to get chicks to dig you is much more down to confidence when interacting than any dancing ability. You may be a professional salsa dancer, but really, dancing in a night club isn't dancing. And even if you became incredible from all of your 'training' on any game, women are not going to be queuing up to dance with you.

In short, don't waste your time. Go out, get drunk, have a good time, be confident.

in fact if you're an absolutely terrible dancer but have a sense of humour, confidence and can absolutely own your terrible dancing ability then that can completely work

what i found girls really like is someone who's got some understanding of others and doesn't belittle a stranger, but i meet good quality girls so maybe that's why we find a difference.

this thread is funny but also one many of us would have made at the age the OP is likely. no need to be nasty **** is there.

@rubberduck for sure you will get a small amount of improvement from games like kinect. worst case you'll get a little fitter and have some fun on the way, best case you'll get good enough and confident enough to go to a dance class. and then at that point you will have won in every way possible. classes with 20 girls and 2 guys, and the other guy is gay. you will be surrounded by the most fittest active girls, wearing limited tight clothing.

That reminds me that many years ago my nephews bought their game machine to mine and played Guitar Hero.
They were pressing buttons on a plastic guitar to a song I knew how to play so I got my guitar out and played it for real.
They looked at me as though I was mad.

and then South Park made an identical episode but with a different song.
 
I've been watching Bruce Lee films for the past 5 years and I'm now a rock-hard Kung Fu master. Go for it, OP.
