Reason why Saints Row and Gameplay made EXTREMELY happy!

My dad found a wallet with over £200 in it (and this was going back 30 years), the guy took it, never said thanks and never gave him anything.
The same situation happened to my friend a few months back.

The same friend lost his wallet and he went to the police station, someone had handed it in but it was £20 down, my friend didn't mind in the least, said it was the least they could have done, it was like a finders fee.

I'm entirely with Ultra_Extreme here.
 
a few months ago i got my barclaycard statement and to my amazement it showed that i was £2700 in credit.
this was an error because when we use our cards we pay the balance when we get the statement to save paying interest.
i telephoned barclaycard to tell them it was not my money and they had made a mistake.
it took two phone calls to get them to take there money back.
later that day a manager rang me up thanked me a gave me £100.
i was tempted to say nothing but they would probably have discovered there mistake and would have wanted there money back.
 
isnt there a cooling off period at all? i.e if it isnt reclaimed in X months its legally yours?

Just leave it for a while, its not a large amount of money in the grand scheme of things, just see what happens.

Or withdraw all your money from the account, close it, and flee the country and go an live in cuba or something... :D , well thats what I'd do if i found millions deposited in my account..hahah

Either way you shouldnt have bragged about it, a bit like the peanut in the news today who bragged he hacked into usc and then got caught.

All I can say is I spoke to an American member of Gameplay on the phone called 'Fox'. I can't however tell you what it was about :).
 
Any update on this, has the money been claimed back? or has the chap fled for cuba with his newly found fortune.... ;)

They didn't give it to you. They put their money in your account by mistake. That's a concept you need to get your head around. It's not your money even though it's in your account.

sorry to the OP but hes got a point

if they do find out, they can demand the money back and take you to court if you dont.

however, i doubt they will. I still have a receipt for £200 from electronics boutique for the PS2 i bought. All fine and dandy except the till crashed as i was being charged. Manager signed my receipt and i walked out the store with it.

2 years later and my account was never charged lol
