Reasonable hour?

Haha, right okay then. We'll just see how you like being treated when you possibly get caught up in a criminal investigation...innocent of course! :)
I'll personally be surprised if that ever happens. ;)

Your alll missing the point.

The law says raids can only be done at a "resasonable" time of day, Who defines what's reasonable?

We're still waiting for you to tell us the point...

Everyones a grammar teacher these days

There is no point or specific reason for asking this question, but since most of you try to uphold UK law I was wondering what you consider a reasonable time.

Any time would be considered reasonable.

Police raid early, as that is when the suspects are most unsuspecting/less likely to escape and most likely to be at the location.

I think the reasons for Police performing raids are more questionable than the time at which they conduct them.

Take for example a guy I know got raided at ~6am back in the days of dial-up for using a 0800 free-dial account illegally (probably the details of which were just passed around on the net). Hardly a first-class offence is it. Had his PC confiscated and cautioned.

Sounds like You Fought The Law and the law won, The Clash you have with The Police is entirely your own doing. For anyone reading this thread U2 can avoid such Trouble by not being Stupid Girls.

I'll stop, it's too easy and not funny :D

Unless you happened to live next door. Police raid my neighbour @ 4am and wake me I'd go out and give them a piece of my mind...
Then the police would hopefully tell you to shut up and stop blubbering.

Becasue the fuzz found his stash... or maybe the PC police have asked him for a time he considers reasonable that they can raid his premises

Yeah lol, 'well could you make it about 2pm officer, give me a good couple of hrs to get rid of my stash before you arrive'. :D

I would have thought that the resonable hour comment is more to do with the suspects neighbours so as not to disturb them. We've had a few around our way at about 5-6am, the police would be more likely to find the suspect asleep in his house in the early hours of the morning than they would if they raided in the afternoon!

I think they can come any time they want, raid or not. They have certainly come to ours asking questions about gypsies at 3AM. :)

I know somebody who used to pay £50 a month for free phone numbers to the USA and he had his 1400 modem connected 24/7 to bulletin Boards. One morning he got a knock at his door at 7am and they emptied his house and I'd just paid £1200 to go five way shares on a 1x CD writer with two 1 gig SCSI hard drives.
I was going to use my share to make music cd's of my band and other local bands. The funny thing was they left at least 500 porn videos that he'd got stacked in his living room.

I know at least 3 other people who have been raided and all were done at about the same time of 7 am in the morning.
