Nice, but way too many unnecessary bit's of carbon fibre. Just looks a bit too tacky, with all the various stick on bits. What are they going for? A track car, a road car pretending to be a track car or just a show car straight out of max speed?

I can totally understand the point of a "show cage" (That isn't a show cage at all).

The car is a track and a show car - for track days you do not require a full FIA spec cage, but having something that'll provide that added protection should you roll is a definite plus.

Its a "show cage" because the it isn't a full cage, which would have ruined the car for its purpose imo.

It has a plaque on it saying its not for protection in the event of a roll over?

Ahh, didn't actually read the plate itself, just assumed it was more "expert technician" guff.

I dont understand the respray given Atlantis Blue is available as a factory order under BMW individual?

BMW individual orders are not available in NA unless BMW north america grant you special permission. They frequently deny requests for individual orders and only allow one or two per year. M3post seems to suggest that you may as well not bother trying, as most individual orders get denied. Hence the respray

That was my first thought. A huge amount of work under tight time constraints for something that could have been done at the factory.

The car is a track and a show car

And therefore utterly compromised from the start, and to be frank a waste of time and money. Unless willy waving is your sole objective, this car fails.

read up, by and large this service isnt available in North America

But weirdly, it is in Canada !
So when you say North America, you actually mean the USA :p

Awesome colour, seems like a pretty decent build.
Seems rather extreme to get the paint and leather shipped from BMW but then I guess if you can afford it..

That is truly stunning, inside and out - Love that engine work, looks fantastic with the bonnet up! Would love to know how much this cost to do, just out of interest/ comparison to the aforementioned Ferrari

522BHP at the wheels :D Gotta be fun...

the only think that ruins it for me is the side on picture at the end, the car looks too low on the wheels and imo looks pretty daft, aside from that, its awesome, would love to know the 0-62 time, around 4 seconds presumably :D

over wheeled?

Yes

but the company is called BMW North America

not BMW USA.

Hence when you google BMW USA. the 1st result is :

BMW of North America, LLC

:p

ESS Stage II is $18,695 from ESS tuning in Norway.

No idea of UK price as the UK distributor doesnt quote a price, but gives you a ball park figure to work with. In comparison the G Power 600bhp supercharger kit is sold here for £18,700 Click Me and G Power is german. So i reckon about the same for the norway based ESS kit.

Budget say £6k for a proper respray inc. labour of stripping and refitting it.

Brembo 380mm Six Pots are £3500 (front brakes and parts only) (Click Me), Akrapovic Titanium Exhaust is £4,200 (Click me) BBS FI's will be a couple of grand. Plus assorted carbon fibre.

Budget say for another £30 - £35,000 on top of the original purchase price for everything.

That is rather nice :D
As its only got a rear cage it cant be classed as a proper safety device which is why it can only be classed a show cage, shame they never went to a full dash avoiding cage but hey ho still nicely done :)
