I'm might possibly build a computer in the near future andd I really cant deicde what gpu to get. The gpu must be under £80.

Well, £80 budget pretty much already limited your choices. Either stretch around £5-£7 to get a 5750 512MB, or a 2nd hand 4870 1GB at £65-£70.

4870 is a good shout, they are still reasonably good cards. seen a 4890 in some store in highstreet, used, the other day for £79.99 :D

That's way to much. Any other suggestions?

I suggest this because if you go with a cheaper card you either won't get the performance you want -at all-, or you'll just have to replace it earlier as new titles come out. So in the long run, this is the best bang-for-buck card on the market today.

dunno if that will be an immediate problem though, since when i bought 8800GTS people were 'warning' of incoming DX10 games that would require that sort of card, years later and they're still perfectly capable of running on DX9 without too much sacrifice. usually offering better performance may i add, in the obvious case of crysis for example. ;)

I guess I could save up to buy the one you are suggesting and maybe along the way newer but cheaper ones could possibly come out.

Depends what you play - I already replaced by 9800GT because it struggled with L4D/Borderlands etc. I do run 1920x1200 tho.

This is quite a good point but I cant seem to find any 8800gts's for a reasonable price at the moment.
