Received what I think is a battery with my Logitech replacement mouse.

FFS, someone put a battery in your box by mistake, or because they were trying to be a funny arse. Don't call the chuffing none emergency number, just get over it and get on with your life.

Just seems odd, Id give logitech a call tomorrow ask if for any reason a battery would end up in your box. If not call UPS and see if they want to pick it up if not drop it in at a police station or bin?

I've got one of those batteries on my desk, they're used for mobility scooters, house alarms and stuff like that. Looks like a packing error at the sender if anything. Just advise Logitech, not your problem to investigate it.

Just was thinking were ive installed these. Fire alarm panels and house alarms!

On the packaging aswell it says 'FLEXTRONICS FGSS' which is a company that Logitech use for the fulfilment of the item. Doing a Google it seems like they could very much supply batteries etc, however it's still strange because the reported weight on the shipping label is 0.5kg when the battery is obviously a lot heavier than that.

If it's the same Flextronics who make Corsair's PSUs then this would make sense.

Looks like a backup battery, sort of thing you find in an alarm panel. There's no point ringing anyone, no one is going to know anything. It probably fell out of someone else's parcel and got accidentally repackaged. Put it down as one of life's little mysteries, you'll never find out why.

Assuming that is, after talking with Logitech about "having by any chance lost a battery"
and they don't want it back..

The battery looks pretty battered and certainly didn't look new. I've put it outside. :p

Looking at similar batteries is says the applications for it are -

Lawn mowers
Golf-caddies
Scooters
E-Bikes
Wheelchairs

Email them back and say you were initially deeply concerned over it. Logitech do seem to have fantastic support so who knows...you may get another freebie like another mouse or something. At very least they should be able to put your mind at rest. I know I would want to know what's with them sending that battery rather than just dispose of it.
