Recent car purchase.

I was hoping more people would be bothered about the 100% performance boost i hope to gain, rather then our own aesthetical preferences.

Did you get the head unit and gash seat covers for cheap also? dude what are you doing to it?. It had a chance of being a cool lil sleeper (ish) thing. now it just looks wrong

There is asthetical preferences and there is sticking a car boot sale special roof rack onto a car to 'make it look better'.

Please, can you explain to us what the roof rack adds to the cars visual appeal? We'd like to try and understand..

It would be a dub scene thing if it was a old style chrome rack or something.. but cheapo boot sale roof rack as fox put it. Its just daft lol

I've got a new headunit going in sometime this week. The seat covers came with the car, and they'll come off when i get some nicer looking seats and backbench.

I think it's a 'dub scene' thing...

I think it's retarded. :)

The roof rack does nothing for the looks, all it does if not carrying stuff is, as Jez said, increase drag and decrease fuel economy.

And those wheels... ...they aren't even remotly 'dub'. just some cheap alloys.

The engine change, good idea, but should have kept the looks stock, keeping the sleeper look on it.

I think with its current mods it does look like a complete nail. Crap generic wheels, cheap roofrack, motoring discount store seat covers and an interior which looks like it's not been hoovered in 5 years.

Why would you strive for that look? It just looks crud. It's the sort of thing Carcraft would use on a TV advert saying they'll give a £1k minimum part exchange on old bangers.

Where has all this 'dub' talk come from?

I don't know how ANY of you can complain about the wheels? They cost a grand total of... £50 with very good condition tyres all round. They're also better suited to the performance boost than the tram wheels i had on before

he'll be fitting a car bra next

the veedub crowd seem to love them and actually think their car looks better with them !

Cool. Without even knowing it I've modded my Golf to fit in with the veedub crowd. There was me thinking that my roof bars were ideal for carrying my bikes around when in actual fact they're a styling accessory. Should I declare them to my insurance company?
