Rechargeable batteries

I’m looking at getting these rechargeable batteries and charger for the Quest 3 controllers. Will they be compatible?

They work fine, I have about a dozen of them in various controllers including the Quest 3

Have you looked a the usb one's? They are the full fat 1.5 Volts, most seem to be usb c but have seen some still on micro.

i have these basically they work well for me.
2 for vr
2 for mice (work/hope)

last for ever with my usage.

the reverb G2 needed proper 1.5v batteries in the controllers - and rechargeable ones for it were expensive ... but the quest will take any old batteries so no drama with what ever you choose.
fortunately now I no longer have my. G2 my stupid expensive AA rechargable batteries that I no longer need work on my blink security system so the money wasn't wasted

They look good, i have rechareables but ii only seem to get about 5 to 7 days use out of a charge, goona have a look at those u linked now, am i going to be shocked at the price (hope not!)...

If you mean the Energizer ones linked to above they are £31.44 including cheapest shipping. At Amazon they are £36.39.

this really I have many different types of batteries from Chinese, to amazon branded ones, Duracell, energizer but the eneloops are the best, the white ones to be specific, the high capacity pro( black in colour )are not worth the compromise of their charging cycle vs capacity. Plus they last ages in remote control, controllers, watches and anything that is low draw. Energizer are not worth the money in my book unless that 1 hour charge cycle is important to you, but the sacrifice you make in charge cycle life span is not worth it.

amazon basic ones are supposed to be eneloop but I believe this was for earlier series but later ones production shifted to china and in my opinion are not as good as eneloops.

I believe eneloops are Panasonic, Amazon have an eneloop charger plus 4 batteries for £29.83

I don't think it charges quite as quick as the Energizers above, taking 1.5 hours to charge two AA batteries or 3 hours to charge 4.

+1 for eneloop. I've used them from xbox controllers to RC transmitters, always been the best brand I've used.

The main reason to get the standard eneloops is the LSD (Low self discharge) the energizers retain 50-80% at 12 months. The eneloops retain much more. I believe they are also rated for 2000 charges whereas the energizers are rated up to 700 charges or 2-5 years.

Yup enloops here as well, only issue by the time the batteries are dead (mouse and k400 keyboard) I've forgotten where the charger is

Yeah the only issue with using 1.2v NiMH rechargeable batteries is it won’t show the true charge percentage of the controllers, ie will show 90% when the batteries are fresh off the charger. Apart from that they will work fine.

Well I went for the energizers in the end mainly because I couldn’t cancel my order and get the eneloops instead. The self discharge thing isn’t going to be a huge problem as long as I store the ones I’m not using with 50% charge and top them back up to 50% every couple of months.

The ones being used in the controllers can be charged as and when needed, they’ll get the most use.

Well as I anticipated after charging my new 1.2v rechargeable batteries and putting them in the controllers they show as 90% L and 80% R. In reality they are fully charged it’s to do with the 1.5v vs 1.2v thing.

so long as they work what does it matter. ? you will save a bundle of cash and personally I hate "disposable" batteries.

however if it does worry you you will have to cough up for li ion rechargables. about £30 for 4 but they come with their own specialised charger and charge in a couple of hrs.

they maintain 1.5 or 1.6v for their entire life better than normal AA batteries and destroy normal rechargables

Yeah I’m happy enough with them don’t get me wrong. Certainly not shelling out more money for li ion rechargeables. They are less likely to leak than alkaline but that only really happens if you don’t use the controllers for a long time. Best thing is they fully charge in an hour.
