Recommend a vacuum cleaner!

I bought a Vax ONEPWR Blade 4 in September last year and for what I paid for it (£130) its decent enough. I have a corded Dyson DC40 as well which rarely gets used these days. I did consider the Dyson v11, but it was just too much money for me to justify. The Vax is easily as powerful as the DC40 and is fairly sturdy, though not quite on the same level as a Dyson. Having to charge batteries is slightly annoying (this would be the case for all cordless hoovers), at least the Vax comes with separate batteries so if they die I can easily swap them. Also I might get a spare so I can always have one ready to go on the charger and one in the hoover. I also have an old Henry in the garage that I use for really dusty/dirty jobs to save ruining the filters on my good hoovers. I have a re-useable bag with a zip on it to save on hoover bags. It's mainly used for hooking up to power tools as dust extraction.

Love my shark lift away, corded but makes vacing the car out very easy with the cylinder bit been so compact, more than happy with the suction and its great how it strips down without screws and that little hair removal tool inside!

I just got the Shark Lift Away and I'm pretty impressed to be honest. Got it for £149.

On max suction it's really difficult to move across the carpet. The amount of filth it's sucked up has made me realise how crap my old Vax was!!!

Being able to lift the canister and walk up the stairs with it in one hand is almost as good as having a cordless tbh.

Nice set of accessories too!

got the same, it's a cracker. like i said on another thread it's scary how much dust it pulled up - i thought my old vac was doing a canny job, turns out i've been living in filth :-D

Had a Henry for years but it just doesn't clean carpet very well. Finally opted for the Shark NZ801UKT and I have to agree, its scary how much hair and dust lifted away from carpet.

Speaking as a former electrical salesperson 20 years ago now mind, Miele was the top of the tree back then & still is now. I bought the base model for my mum 10 years ago & it still works as well now as it did new.
She also has a Shark as she wanted one when they started out a few years ago. I'm quite impressed on how versatile it is & it's a lot lighter than her old DC01 that she has previously.

We have a shark cordless and an old miele cat and dog (must be 10+ years old). The miele is significantly more powerful but the shark actually seems to pick up a hell of a lot of stuff from carpets.

I imagine the miele is picking up similar but since its bagged I don't see it and end up thinking the shark is better.

We have 2 indoor cats and a dog.
I have a shark liftaway duo clean (nz801uk is only £199 direct from shark), I like the front soft roller as it really helps agitate the carpet.

I could sidereal a cordless shark to supplement it, but its considerably heavier than the dyson cordless so I have recently got a dyson v7 animal to keep on top of cleaning, its easier to just grab that , than get the shark vacuum out.

I picked a Tineco up a year or so ago, still going strong

replaceable / washable filters, 2 batteries different powered heads for cleaning carpets / hard floors / furniture etc

I'd always go wired for a proper hoover. These get the dust up much much better. Miele all the way. These always get rave reviews.

Cordless for a quick daily whip around the house. I've had Bosch cordless, great auction but fell to bits many times and after repairs, we returned. Just changed to a shark cordless, great hoover but suction not as good. Hopefully the quality is there though. Happy so far

So whats the goto chargable one now, the V11?

MY DC14 (the hero its been over the years) is making sad noises, its already had 2 motors (over the years) and recent filters done.

But i fancy something smaller, wall mount perhaps. Rechargable would be nice!

Oh and going to last :)
