Recommend an MMO?

Why has no one said WoW? In my opinion it's the best there is at the moment.

-broken character progression
-social aspect on servers lost with the new lfg thing
-bad players are elitest
-5 man dungeons utter dull and can grind them for the highest tier gear without raiding

proble more but you get the drift :D

One thing I never got about WoW is how little Dungeons they have and Raids. EQ2 has way more, and then look at DDO. Each of their little dungeons were better than any of WoWs.

Wow is a joke thease bad players now have mounts that look like my Furious and relentless gladiator mounts.. i mean.. whats the point in being good at something when everything is handed to you on a plate.

I stoped all raiding on that game and i still have full T10 and an ICC mount games become way to casual.

Eve onlines a good mmo but it's to expensive imo i would happy sell my accounts for that game there worth quite a lot.

Problem with most MMOs, they really aren't that interesting.

Shame City of Heros is so dead these days, tho it was boring story wise the team v enemy dynamics worked brilliantly with everyone slotting into the structure to make or break combat.

There just aren't really any compelling MMO games out at the moment and most of those that are coming out look like rehashes.

1 - Raiding progression is broken, I'll give you that.

2 - Rubbish, ever heard of guilds? You think people just ignore everyone else on the server because they can get a quick dungeon run? Just because you can't be arsed to be sociable with other players in not the games fault.

3 - The same thing happens in every MMO or MP game, I've played EVE, Conan, MW1/2, CS:S, they all have massive amount of elitists and generally horrible people.

4 - Sorry but no, the top 2 tiers of gear are still only attainable by raiding or crafting with very expensive materials, you can grind heroics for "entry level" gear to get into the higher tiers of raiding which I grant you is still a bit dodgy.

The drift I get is you don't like WoW. Fair enough, horses for courses :)

it depends what sort of game you're after, FPS? RTS? RPG? futuristic? fantasy?

theres a huge list of MMOs here, you might find something on it you like the look of.

This. But dont play on official servers:

http://www.uogamers.com/

The best MMO, free, and set in its glory days. Perfect. That server is more populated than the official servers, and set back when the game was good - no artifacts, powerscrolls etc. Basically, skill based and not item based still.

I only ever played the 2nd age, I've been back several times since but it has changed so much over the years. You load up player shards and they are completely different.

I wasted so many hours to this game!

Adding open world areas as an afterthought doesn't sound good though to be honest. They need to be designed that way from the ground up, not stuck in 3 months after release because no one likes the game the way it is.

Not the case, conquest has always been on the cards, they just released the core gameplay aspects of leveling up and PVE along with entry level PVP to wet people's appetite.

The conquest mode is designed for huge guilds and alliances in mind, it makes sense to add it in once the game's teeth have developed. The developers themsleves (Hi-Tec) are perhaps one of the best developers I've come across, they truly listen to their community and get involved unlike any other developers I've seen.

I'm playing Global Agenda at the moment with 3 other friends and really enjoying it. It takes the best aspects of many MMOs and FPS and adds them into a unique and new setting.

I've been playing MMOs maybe 10 years now, Global Agenda is fresh... give it a try. It's free and on steam.

This one isn't. Its pretty much perfectly recreated UO:R, around pub15. No neon rubbish everywhere or other random things, it is very similar to to OSI with a few minor improvements - duel pits etc.
