Recommend me a coffee machine....

As always, invest more in a proper espresso machine, and enjoy the joy of quality beans at relatively low prices. Not to mention you are drinking the real stuff, only down side is the added time it takes to prep and clean.

There are "all in one" machines but the price range is usually 500+. A mate has a £700 one but personally I think it would be less fuss and better coffee to run with a brew pot and a good grinder. I'm polite about the espresso from it but safe to say it's not good.

Just as an aside - the most important thing is the freshness of the roasted coffee beans being used. Then the grinder to give a even grind and then finally (the lowest importance) the coffee machine/brew method itself..

Yes, on a scale of descending importance of 1-7, Coffee Bean Quality/Freshness is number 1, then grinder is around 4-5, and brew method is 7.

But that's true for all cooking, fresh top quality ingredients :)

My bro in law got a Tassimo for xmas, Bosch Tassimo Multi Beverage Machine. The coffee he made me was nice, it uses them pods. I'd quiet like one but seems like a glorified kettle to me. How much are the pods out of interest?

Got a Senseo for xmas, does ok for a quick hit. Plus there are a few online stores for the coffee pods with lots of variety.
Also got 2 Cafatiere's for home use!

Easy for coffee at work, we have a bean to cup machine. Best present we've ever had from a contractor.

Do you want to buy some un-opened pods? lol

I have no use for them now, will have to stick them all on the bay or something.

Is there such a machine as this, basically i have a cheap machine at the moment, you put the ground coffee in then it slowely drips the hot water over it... BUT i can never ever get the amount right, it says a guide is one scoop of coffee to one cup, but its either too strong and tastes crap or too weak i can NEVER get it bloody right, what can i do :(

Sounds like you have a filter drip machine. Weigh the coffee and measure the amount of water should help.
Another method is to weigh the coffee, put the coffee machine on the scales and then pour in the water - that way you have the same coffee/water amount too.
