I'd like to give one a go. However, i don't have lots of time to devote to it, perhaps 5 or so hours a week, and would prefer something which doesn't have too steep a learning curve!

Any suggestions???

Guild Wars, its not hard at all to play and does not require a subscription so for your low activity you will be getting a good bang for your buck.

Although Pepole are gonna pobably slate me for this...

World Of Warcraft.

You can Play as much or as little as you want and quests normally take from 10mins to 1 hour, depending on what and where you have to go.

For about £8 a month might not be worth it if you really only can do just 5 hours a week.

£8 a month dosen't sound too bad!

Free 10 day trial here

Don't know how long it takes to D/L though as i nabbed the discs of my mate. :D

Takes ages (downloading it on my girlfriends Pc now!) depending of course how fast your cable is. But, from someone who only started playing last night, I love it - Get the ten day trial downloaded - would be good to have another complete newbie to all this around in the guild so I don't have to ask all the stupid questions!!!!

I played Warcraft for 2 years, and if you plan on playing it for no more than 5-6 hours a week its not going to be worth it, getting to Level 70 will take a heck of a long time and then getting to 80 will take ever longer.

You are best of with Guild wars as its free. Thats the main reason i didnt recommend WoW, as its not really a casual game (even though they advertise it as being one).

Ah..yes I figured it was private servers (which yes are not legit despite what many people would believe), just wondered if by some miracle it wasnt going to be the privateserver route :)

Me to, i would still like to play it, but fear of getting addicted again has stopped me. Saying that, it was only the old PVP ranking system that got me addicted, spent Months getting to Warlord.

it is very much so now, there is no need to do pve instances anymore
Why the hurry to get to 70? just enjoy the ride

I am no wow fan but it is by far the most casual mmo out there atm bar guildwars pve (if you want to compete with the koreans in rankings you need to be online permanently with a IV attached for sustinance)

I agree completely, I thoroughly enjoyed EQ2 and Saga of Ryzom but that fact is, I didn't have enough time to play.

WoW is still an excellent game and is made even better by the fact that I actually feel progression, even when not playing very much.
