I wear fingerless gloves, where the tip of each finger (~1cm) is cut off, so you can still use your phone. It's lightweight and hugs your hands pretty well to stay warm.

You have to make sure there's enough grip on the palm though. I also find it difficult to find gloves big enough for my hands, which is especially annoying when cycling as if they aren't quite big enough, they are uncomfortable.

If you don't want to spend too much I suggest looking at Decathlon. I got some from there last year and they are toasty for cycling.

I know a great site. Your van get electric blankets, hot water bottles, really thick warm socks, everything you need to keep nice and toasty.

I wear thin woollen gloves, if they get wet, I change them for another pair.
