Recommend winter gloves

For photography I wear some thin base layer gloves.
Then some "sealskinz" fingerless convertible mittens over the top. Not cheap but very comfortable and I can still press all the camera buttons.

If you dont want to bulky and just something to keep them warm even builders or work gloves would work. failing that any thinsulate are really good

I've been cycling all through winters since 2008 and gone through quite a lot of gloves with a couple being about £50.
In 2019 I took a punt on these at around £7 and I'm still using them.
Amazon don't do them anymore but if you can find them I'd recommend them.

Several people mentioned Thinsulate™, but the problem with that stuff is the variety of types.
Even if you get genuine Thinsulate™, it comes in 9 different types, with each one geared toward specific functions or activities.

PrimaLoft™ is generally better than Thinsulate™ anyway, but you also have G-Loft which is better for insulation, packing down, durability and water resistance.

Gloves for cycling/walking that are actually warm and not too bulky?
Montane are pretty good, especially as they're often not very bulky at all.
I use their Via trail gloves for walking, down to about -5ºC and one of their Prism models for when it gets colder. Both pack down very small, so when (not if) you start getting really warm, they easily stuff into a pocket.
They also have a sub-range of cycling-centric gloves too, which generally get decent reviews and have harder-wearing material for all the grip faces. The lightweight low-bulk gloves they do for walking generally don't hold up too well against abraision from constantly holding things like dog leads, hiking poles and handlebars.

Rab also do some good pairs. I like the Xenon gloves for low-bulk kit.

SealSkinz look good on paper, but user reviews aren't so favourable. Their sizing is also somewhat ********** if you have larger hands.

I use the knitted thinsulate gloves for both walking and cycling and find the extra bulk no problem. Though I am not the type that feels the need to check their phone during either activity.
