Recover flash disk?

So I plugged in my posh USB 3.0 Corsair Voyager and BOOM, frozen. Unplug it and it's nuked apparently. Windows wants me to format it but this seems like a good time to find out how to fix up the file system. I thought MiniTool's utility would be able to do it, but apparently not. I need the Pro disaster version for that.

Also, why did this happen?

I found an app called Testdisk, but it seems to have frozen on "Analyse cylinder 522/1946" and the LED on the drive has stopped flashing

Yes sounds like it is dead and unrepearable unless you sitting on ega meney for the professionals.
