Rectangular serving plates

Anyone know where you can get the slate like plates they use in masterchef?
You can go the budget route, and use slate tiles meant for use on roofs or in paving, but you'll have the devil of a time trying to get a matching set and people now know their 'worth' so you might not get a bargain like you used to.

Or you can go down the expensive route and buy custom-made slate plates from places like zusammendining on eBay, Annmade, ASA Selection, etc.

Or if you want to spend silly money, there's always the range from Welsh Slate. Beautiful, but comically expensive.

Just watch out for any that have been backed with something to protect the table as this means they can't be heated up in the oven and don't really wash very well either.

I have square plates, been to;d they were first used n sailing ships so when the sea was rough and your plate slid down the table it would just hit the side rather than bouncing off - don't know if true or not.

I get my plates/ glasses from house of fraiser, theres always something on sale and it's not terrible stuff, not the best but it's good for what you pay.
