Recurring numbers

My last girlfriend one day pointed out to me that she always saw recurring numbers. She said she saw them every day and that it was almost scary how much it happened. At first I passed this of as coincidence but then something happened... it started happening to me! At first it was on clocks, or VCRs or microwaves...anything with a digital display...I would see it all the time! I still partially wrote it off as a coincidence but the recurrence came more frequent to a point where I could no longer believe this was "normal".

Upon doing some research on the net I found a plethora of information on the very subject... there are a number of theories, the two most common are:

People who see recurring numbers are known as Lightworkers, guides on Earth to help mankind find the true path...I am not so keen on this idea as it is a little too religious for my liking.

The other common theory (some theories overlap the two concepts aswell) is that some numbers are symbols programmed into us on a spiritual level by the universe. At heart we are all spiritual creatures beyond this flesh body, and the symbol is a reminder of that truth. Like a cosmic passcode to the spiritual realm. I like this concept and in part believe it, even if just to make myself happy. Whenever I see recurring numbers I am reminded of my spirituality and even if it is just a coincidence I am happy for it.

Just the other day I was at the shopping centre and I saw all these things with £xx.99 everywhere, so offputting! It was all I could see and think about :(

I don't see how numbers can recurring.....since there are only 1-9 and they make up of all numbers, surely they recuring everytime a number is used.....
 
I feel like something either significant or humourous has metaphorically passed my physical body some distance above me.

I think it's just that you will notice things that you're looking for. Ever since the world trade centre attacks I've started noticing the time 9:11 on my watch constantly. It's not that there's more than two 9:11 per day anymore, it's just that with all the news coverage back then those digits were etched into my brain and if I glance at a watch at that time I will make that connection.

Same thing's happening to you now that your gfs brought this to your attention.

There's a really annoying one you can do to people that'll usually drive people insane... "Why can't you feel your tongue when you arn't thinking about it" Have fun trying to forget about your tongue now :p

yeh, and if u notice a 2, then another one, it becomes lodged in your brain that all you've mainly seen is 2s. a 5 could have come along inbetween the two 2s, but as it was your first 5, you would take less notice of it.

you are making insignificant things significant.

This recurring numbers thing reminds me of an email I got about 9/11 and how everything seemed to link to the number 11. I don’t want to paste it if I’m going to get screams of OLD! CARP! etc... It was quite interesting though, but I suppose if you analyse things enough you can always find recurring numbers.

Dead-on accurate, there.

Worse than just being aware of your tongue, though, is wondering if you swallow saliva naturally. :p
