Red Arrow crashes near Bournemouth

Poor chap :( I feel for his family at this time.

I saw the Arrows perfoming at RIAT 2011 not so long ago aswell :(

Sad news :-(

Driving in Brighton I saw 2 arrows over the pier before the accident. Got home after it had happened and saw the coastguard sea king whizzing down the coast B'mth way.

:-(

A bit here from earlier this month on Red Four / Jon Egging;

http://2028sqnatc.co.uk/news.php?id=10818

On Thursday the 28th July 2011 Cadets, Staff and Civilian Committee were on hand to greet an ex Cadet who had achieved something no other Cadet from 2028 Squadron could possibly have dreamed of, he had joined the world famous Royal Air Force Red Arrows Aerobatic Display Team.

Flight Lieutenant Jon Egging or ‘Red 4’ as he is known to his colleagues had been a Cadet at 2028 Squadron back in 1997 before going on to join the Royal Air Force. He is in his first year of a three year tour with the Red Arrows which will take him all over the world.

Very sad news indeed. Been watching the reds at F1 for a few years, they are awesome.

RIP Jon. Thoughts are with Emma and your family.

So sorry to hear this sad news :(

I love the red arrows; have seen them perform their wonderful manoeuvres so many times.

It really is a sad loss, not sure what went wrong - but I can believe the pilot stayed with the aircraft to avoid public areas and loss to lives on the ground.

RIP.

Sad news, poor guy. Only 33 years old, no age to go. From what has been reported it sounds like he would have had time to eject but chose not to, brave man. Of course at the moment it's all speculation, I'm sure it will all come out in the fullness of time.
