Red Bull launch thread

I've heard rumours that the RBR does indeed have an ugly nose - U shaped, like FI/Caterham, not Ferrari - not really surprising.

However I've also been told that the car is very tightly packaged so it's very slim from the sidepods back.
 
I'm certain that picture flying around isn't the RB8. If you look at images of the 7 from the same sort of profile, it's the same car!
 
No whoever took the photo or uploaded it to tinternet. That looks like RB7 being loaded after a test last year.

did redbull take a show car to any of the tests last year? i remember mercedes , williams and some others having a show car on display outside of their garage at one of the testing events.

everyone seems to be getting hyped up over nothing
 
I don't think so. For the McLaren launch (which was on SSN) they wouldn't shut up about for the couple of hours before hand. So far there's been nothing mentioned of the RBR launch.

Red Bull RB8 not as ugly as Ferrari says Marko

Asked about the unattractive Ferrari solution, Red Bull’s Marko insisted: “We have something that looks a lot better.

“Our car is not as ugly as the Ferrari, but it’s also not like the McLaren, which doesn’t have a kink in the nose at all.

“Ours is just a bit smaller and more elegant (than the Ferrari solution),” the Austrian added.
