Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4, Xbox and PC Hopefully)

And all the compendium stuff can also be completed?

For the most part yes. I believe there's about 10 species of animal that are tied to chapter 5 which you'd obviously need for the achievement to kill and skin every single animal (this isn't needed for 100%).

I finished Epilogue 2 at maybe 80-85% completion. I'm now at 94.9% so it does work.

This may help - http://www.powerpyx.com/red-dead-redemption-2-100-guide-checklist/

The 100% requirements are very forgiving because you don’t actually need to do everything. For example, only 50 of 178 animals are required. It’s the same with other tasks, you only need to do a fraction of what the game has to offer. Other examples include that only 10 Stranger Questlines are needed, 25 out of infinite Chance Encounters, 10 of 72 equipment pieces, 5 Shacks must be found, 48 of 59 weapons, 10 of 30 fish species, 10 of 19 horse types, 20 of 43 plant types. There is a lot in the Compendium you don’t need. You do need all of the Collectibles & Challenges though, which will be the main time eaters.

EDIT: There's 4 snakes, 3 different coloured parrots and a red billed booby you can only get in Chapter 5.

Crap. Have I screwed this up. Hunted the legendary buck to get the trinket. In a mad moment for some reason I thought the trinket was from the trapper, so I sold the legendary buck to him. Then realised I needed to take it to the fence. Can I kill the legendary again?

Go to a Fence and see if you can buy the trinket.

Once you've killed the legendary animal, that's it. Although if you skinned the animal, you automatically loot the parts needed for the trinket/talismans.

You're fine then. Check with a Fence and he should offer it for sale.

Ok thanks.

howcome I can't get any trains anymore in chapter 6 yet I've seen trains being used by npcs? Is it because we blew the bridge?

Edit. Yep could buy the trinket there. So as long as I skin the legendary animals, I'll have the option to craft from fence, that's good to know. I've not really paid much attention on the fence and trinkets I'd already crafted before this point.

Once you've killed a legendary animal, that's it - they don't respawn. With regards to crafting, you'll get all the materials you need from it.

You can also kill them however you want, blow it up with dynamite if you so wish - it doesn't damage the pelt. If you also skin it and have it on your horse, but you die, it'll automatically go to the trapper but you'll miss out on the money from selling the pelt.

Not sure on the train thing, it gets rebuilt during the epilogue and you can use them again.

Also buy all the blueprint/recipe things too? then you can craft all sorts of cool ammo

example: Dynamite arrows vs the O'Driscolls are a LOT of fun

If you want to do the gold bar glitch to get infinite gold bars for selling, you don't want to buy the Horse pamphlet from the Fence otherwise the glitch doesn't work.

Constantly saying the area has too much activity. I've done everything, saved, camped, returned over and over again, killed everything in the area.

I think there may be a gang hideout near that area that may need clearing if you haven't already. Do you also have a bounty on you?

There also may be a stranger/side mission there that needs to be completed. IIRC the Buck is the top right of the map? There's a side mission involving a woman close by.

EDIT: Oh also try setting up camp away from the location, then head there on foot. It's happened to me before but it fixes itself. You'll be missing something in that area for sure.

You don't need to deliver the skin to anyone. As long as you skin the animal you can drop it there and leave it. You'll still be able to use it in both trapper and fence recepies, you're only loosing few dollars that you'd get from trapper for it.

I moved on to play Bloodborne but in the end I have decided I'm not quite done with the game just yet. There is still loads to do after the main quest finishes, not just hunting and fishing(though I have been doing that, just caught the legendary bass). Here are some of the things I have done post-main quest. It really is quite impressive.

Found the graves of two of the gang members who died during the story. Thought this was a neat touch.
Met some of the gang members and seen how they are doing. I have found 2 so far. Not sure how many there are.
Explored the massive New Austin area that only becomes available after chapter 6!
Done a load of side quests and bounties that I purposefully left
Collectibles
Hunting the legendary animals and fish

I really enjoyed the story, but In many ways the game is more enjoyable without the badly designed missions getting in the way!

Done the stranger mission, done the mission for the debt collection. Been out and in about 20 times. I've went down and slept in the hotel and came back. I've saved and turned the system off.

It totally just doesn't work. It's killing me :/

He's top left of the map. I've even youtubed where the first clue is, to try and trigger it. Nothing.

Ha I just stumbled across the 2nd KKK encounter:D

God the varmint rifle is crap. I was told you should use it on smaller animals but it takes me 3 headshots to kill a fox!

Chapter 6 complete. I can honestly say absolutely incredible, I loved pretty much every minute of the story. Slow pacing at times and like others said in here, Dutch sure was getting tiring and doing my head in during the later chapters, but hey that’s the whole point right. What an incredible ride towards the end, it really was well thought out.

so....what an ending. I absolutely hated Dutch and Micah at the end, just brilliant writing to make me hate them so much and want to kill them painfully. I felt really done in with Arthur’s demise towards the end, and the way he and the horse went out, quite sad, he was a brilliant protagonist to play as. So many amazing moments through the story though.

Just started the epilogue now, i can’t wait to see what is available from here on and the memories from RDR1 I’m sure will be excellent down here in the Epilogue. Looking forward to visiting some of those old towns

I just went as far north as I could. I hunted the legendary White Bison during a thunderstorm at night, which was pretty epic. I ended up staying up there for ages as there is no way to get back quickly. Had to eat and change clothes etc as my cores were draining at 900%. Then I rode back to Valentine and on to the trapper. It really got me appreciating some of the things that I hadn't before, like the weather system and the snow effects which are excellent. It is still a joy to traverse this world and come across the many secrets and small details.
