Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4, Xbox and PC Hopefully)

wow can't believe how much better the X runs and looks. All the others versions look like they are smeared with vaseline.

it should come with a tub of vaseline for some of the butt hurtedness on the tinterweb at the moment over tiny tiny negligible differences between consoles.

Sure thing dude!

But wouldnt you agree that if you were used to playing at 60fps and native 4k you would then wait the extra time to get that? I agree that people shouldnt be harsh on the 30fps thing but i can tell you that the difference of native 4k at 60fps vs upscaled 4k on 30fps is quite large and i can understand someone feeling like it was jarring playing at the lower fps.

Hence thats why you get the people that say "i cant play at 30fps". Its simply a choice to make the most of the hardware and technology someone has available. One thing is for sure, experiencing such a ground breaking game at native 4k and 60fps will be a superior way to do it, you cannot dispute that.

To be honest with you, no, I don't agree with that at all. Extra time waiting at this moment that might be for nothing because there's absolutely no guarantee that it'll come out on the PC, or have a better option available later. RDR wasn't a PC release. People are just assuming that it'll come to the PC because GTA 5 did eventually. But even if it is coming to the PC, you're denying yourself a game right now that you'll wait at least a year to play if they are making it on the PC. So why not spend £50 now and deal with it being, what your mind perceives, as worse, and then you get to have the game experience right now. None of the reviews I've read have said that it's terrible at 30fps. That's all in the mind of those that think they need better. And if you play it now and enjoy it, but still want the "better" experience if it ever comes along, then you buy it again if they end up making a PC version available. But right now there's no PC title in the works that we know about so the whole "I won't play it at 30fps, yuck, yeuch, that's so last century" seems rather silly to me.

Whoop, dispatch confirmation from Very.

The wife works from home so think i'll ask her to stick the disk in to install for me I presume it'll then auto download any patches?

Disc 1 installs to 54%, you then get a notification for disc 2. IIRC the install process is about an hour long. There's also a 3.5GB patch on PS4 Pro.

Does anyone know what the patch does? Is it bug fixes or does it add more graphic fidelity? Seems like a big patch just for bugs so maybe it will bring it on par with XB1X. Who knows.

It's a day one patch "addressing a number of last minute tweaks, bugs and fixes"

What seems silly to me is buying a game on release nowadays that will be full of bugs. It would actually be better to wait a year and pick the game up on offer after its been patched several times to experience it as it should have been released. ;)

Have you been sent your code yet?

Can't work out if it's best to buy the game with credit CDK or with the actual product.

The code will be available by 26th October or just before, or so the site says. Can't pre-download the game then. Ah well, I'll get it downloading tomorrow morning and let it download whilst at work :)

But it is all new and shiny, and the hype train is steaming along! Look forward to another play through already in a years time :D
