Do you mean swimming across to Mexico? it will tire your Horse who might throw you off but it can be done easy enough, otherwise just use Wemod to give your Horse endless stamina, I did a post about Mexico where you can find the old fort from the original first game, there are no people however. But also find how to glitch back to Guama Island where animals & people inc soldiers are there and will attack you!, see post 3514

Cannot start RDR2 after update.
Get a message telling me it has failed a hardware check and need GEforce version 442.29
But latest Nvidia version seems to be 442.19

Same here, just updated and now it needs a driver that seemingly doesn't exist , loads of mentions on the net

I just clicked o.k to the message and the game loaded as normal

I continued to run it regardless of the message and it's messed with all my graphics settings and the textures don't load properly for the ground stuff ‍

Hotfix, not mainline WHQL driver. The hotfix does this:

[Red Dead Redemption 2][Vulkan]: Random crash during gameplay on Pascal and older GPUs

So I guess that is why Rockstar wants people to install it.

I've not added the hotfix as it runs fine for me so far, no idea what the patch actually fixed as Roxstar have not released any notes yet :confused:

Was getting the GFX error when logging into the game last two nights to get dailies done, warning about the driver appeared yesterday switched to DX12 and got straight in without having to update driver, See if it's still the case tonight.

Any issues with this game either on an SSD or HDD?

I remember early on seeing a good post about optimised settings to use as a starting point, any pointers would be great as I'm going to finally just get it now and see how I get on with my system. Not expecting fireworks but solid 1080p performance would be nice (3600 and a 1070)

I'm haven't got any problems after the update, got the pop up about the driver but just clicked ok and the game runs fine, no setting have altered

no issues, running on ssd for me using the optimal settings im averaging 40 fps on a 4670k and a 970, id imagine you could be close to 60

the game took longer to start up initially after the hotfix but not sure if its a one-off.. it did get rid of the message however

Thanks, I was going to ask on here today if there was a fix for all the crashing.

Im crashing around twice every night and most times if I dont reboot pc it crashes again and nearly every time I ult tab out is instant crash.

I am using pascal and vulcan so hopefully this will fix.

had my first crash with this game tonight after dozens of hours of gameplay...got to be related to the weird driver pop up and available hotfix which I haven't tried.
