Red Dead Redemption 2

Anything over 100fps is good for me. Running a 5090/9800X3D

Should DLAA look better than both DLSS or MSAA in this title? from my testing MSAA looks sharper than DLSS and DLAA, but it causes some shimmering on tree branches. Maybe I have some settings wrong in the NVIDIA app/control panel.
I believe MSAA will look sharper but DLAA will have better stability in the image, personally I only ever use DLSS and DLAA in RDR2, remember DLAA is DLSS just the AA part of DLSS not the upscaling part

Yup use DLSS/DLAA. RDR 2 "needs" a TAA based upscaler/AA as it looks downright horrible and even has graphical artifacts without it:

Never got past the camp bit on this but I install it when I get a new GPU as it's a good coilwhine test.
I've played it 2.5 times now, half way though on PS4 Pro at launch, then 2 full playthoughs on PC, last 1 was just before DLSS 4 came out so I wish I had waited but there's always the 3rd playthough lol

To be fair I'm like this with GTA as well. I just find the controls sluggish and the whole thing was just too slow for me but it looks nice I guess.
A good example of a game I wish I could enjoy.

Funny enough I haven't properly played GTA since PS2 and PSP days, I didn't enjoy 4 or 5 enough to finish them, though I have thought of giving them another shot

Any news on an RT update for this? I wonder if one could be on the cards for the PS6 launch?
I doubt it, they couldn't even be assed patching it to support PS5, unfortunately since it doesn't print money like GTA Rockstar doesn't give a damn

Its the 5th best selling game of all time, a little bit of love and a remaster or enhanced version would easily push it to 3rd place

Tell that to Rockstar lol, GTA5 has had what 3 console generation ports now, plus a enhanced edition, meanwhile RDR2 is stuck on last gen consoles with no actual confirmed update or anything for current gen hardware nevermind a enhanced edition

Still slowly forcing my way through this. I do really enjoy most of the quests but its so slow in-between and riding to the quests. Looks great btw with a couple of mods.

You can fast travel, think you have to upgrade arthurs wagon in camp to unlock it.

Although riding to and fro, the random encounters and exploring are a big part of what the game is about.

Yes, i have unlocked the map on the wagon but rarely use as you say you might miss a good random event. The conversations with other characters on the way to the quests can be witty.

I feel like I should be taking a time out and doing some hunting for pelts to upgrade my storage etc but cba!

The hunting side quests are mostly aesthetic, some stuff adds bonuses but nothing too earth shattering for progression.

At least not compared to finding a new gun in a random house or the treasure hunting quests
