Dispensing Machine: Hello. How can I help you?
The Cat: Fish!
Dispensing Machine: Today's fish is Trout a la creme, enjoy your meal.

The Cat: I will.

My favourite bit has no dialogue. It's just the expression on the cat's face after trying to have a poo in sdrawkcaB.

I went to the filming of episode 4 and it was really good, everyone I was with thought it was a real return to form, really looking forward to them being aired.

Actually, seeing as I think Rimmer is imo one of the greatest characters ever created, I think my favourite bit is probably in The Last Day where Krytens replacement is about to attack them and Kryten says "Don't worry sir, he is programmed not to harm humans", then Rimmer steps forward and says "aah, let me handle this"

:D

Robert Llewellyn's blog makes for interesting reading on this subject. Although he doesn't give any real spoilers, it is nice to see he (and it seems the writers/producers) understand the dissatisfaction fans had with the latter series, especially the latest three part effort.

I'm a big RD fan and have been since early '90's and I think RD is one of the best newer generation comedy programs to have come out of the UK. Although most fans were disappointed by series 7-9, they were still enjoyable and continued storylines and developed characters that the first six series started, but they are bound to be judged against 1-6.
My view of where they went wrong was to move away from live audiences and to try and make it a bit more polished to appeal to a wider (i.e. American) audience.

As for best quotes, for me they have to be:

LISTER: Kryten, man, are you OK?
KRYTEN: I have a medium-sized fire axe buried in my spinal column. That sort of thing can really put a crimp on your day.

KRYTEN: Sir! They've taken Mr. Rimmer!
CAT: Quick, let's get out of here before they bring him back!

Number #1 for me has to be this though - never ceases to get me at the end of the scene..... 'ahh, so you're a waffle man'

I'm fine thank you Susan.

And of course the legendary Ramases The Niblick The Third, Kerplunk! Kerplunk! Whoops, wheres my Thribble?

As you can tell from my username, I might be a big Red Dwarf fan :p

Very well. I have a third question. A sensible question. A question that will tax your new I.Q. to its very limits and stretch the sinews of you knowledge to bursting point.

This is going to be about waffles, isn't it?

Certainly not. And I resent the implication that I'm a one-dimensional, bread-obsessed electrical appliance.

I apologise, toaster. What's the question?

The question is this: Given that God is infinite, and that the universe is also infinite... would you like a toasted teacake?

That's another bready question.

It's not just bready. It's quite curranty, too

Tis a shame that UK series are so short. Would be awesome if RD was a 12/24 episode series instead with a good long story arcs sometimes.

I went to the filming of episode 2. I have much higher hopes for this than the back to earth shows that aired last year (or the year before iirc). It was a great experience, really funny and some great to and fro's between the cast and audience.

I can't give anything away, but I think it'll be much more pleasing to those who were fans of the older series. I hope it comes across as funny on TV after all the edits as it was in the studio.

Lister: That's just typical isn't it, the first female contact in 3 million years and I have head that looks like it belongs up a whales nose!

Boys from The Dwarf :D

Stoner81.

PS - Stocked up on the mango juice already :)

awesome happy memories

I still remember when the cat came into my store.... he was being pushed by a young lady while he was inside a trolley I just served them as normal :)

Then I wondered why this guy is being funny... before seeing its the cat :)

Look forward to the new series but yeah its got a lot of damage control to do !
