Red Dwarf

Didn't they destroy the ship in the last episode? I'm not sure that making more Red Dwarf is a good idea, it went totally downhill after season 6, so anything new would have to be much better than the last two seasons at least.

I mean come on, how long have we been waiting for a movie now?
What movie? ;)

I remember reading the rumour in YS and that stopped being published in 93 :p. And that was a good couple of years into the whole feature film derbarkle...

Probably the only DVDs that Ive listened to the commentary on for every episode :D

ps3ud0

Im spun out lol... its been a VERY long time since I watched any Red Dwarf so last night I cracked open series 4 5 and 6.

I really do hope this isnt a pack of lies and it really does get made because if it catches on again then maybe the beeb will do another series.

Oh nice. I still haven't seen Allo Allo anniversary special.

I never really was a fan of it while it aired on prime time, but deffo enjoy it through mates' dvd collections.

Given that the article couldn't even be bothered to spell Kryten correctly (Kryton, wtf?), I doubt it's true.

Damn shame though :(

Danny John Jules doing Dwanye the "Can't Smeg Won't Smeg" TV Special was fantastic :D

I suggest to all of you guys who haven't seen "Can't Smeg Won't Smeg" to go watch it now :D

Comedy GOLD I tell you!

That was part of red dwarf night on bbc2 many years ago, I cant stand ainsley harriet but seeing lister and co winding him up was comedy gold :D

it'd be a big hit in the US and UK.

No, no it wouldn't

Different humour completely. I don't think American's would understand the humour surrounding a curry, larger and pot noodle gag :-/

Heck, if it was going to be a US release they'd probably try and remake it... AGAIN :(

totally agree - bringing it to the USA was a complete mistake, whole new cast, new story, and the humour as well as the atmosphere wasnt there. The set on the bbc version was cheap and tacky and added to the humour.

Yeah, the last couple of series lost a little bit of their charm because of the BBC's much larger budget for Red Dwarf... certainly didn't make it crap, but you didn't get that sense of.... actually I'm not sure what it is... just a sense of watching a classic, low budget, high entertainment British comedy that Red Dwarf was back in the early series.

That said though, some of the later episodes are fantastic!

Gunmen of the Apocalypse - how good is that :D

I hold Red Dwarf and Final Fantasy VII in the same leagues personally, in that I'd absolutely love them to make something new and put something brilliant out there... but it's been so long since we last had something from them (other than Advent Children in FFVII's case) that I'd be mortified if it wasn't anything short of brilliant.
