Couldn't find a suitable thread to put these pics in so I've created this one. I've managed to survive just over a week with limited net access while redecorating my PC room, it's the little box room in my house which has gone from this:

Yes I know the green is really in you're face and loud but it seemed like a good idea at the time :o.

Tore down all the green wallpaper:

The boxed in section you can see is the gap where the stairs in my house are - there's not much else I can do to hide this other than box it in and use the section above as shelves. My room was closed for just over a week:

And this morning I built my new desk and new chair and reinstalled everything:

I've still got a few bits n bobs to finish, want to carpet over the boxed in section and buy a new blind that'll match the new decoration but I'm well chuffed with my new chair and desk :D

Awesome, now it looks like a cheap brothel. At least you'll feel comfortable spanking 'em out in there. Kudos.

Looking good bud, certainly less in your face than the green. Need to possibly get some sort of storage sollution. Chair looks really comfy im due a replacement so a test drive will be in order :p

That desk looks like a nightmare to clean though.

Nice change, but i gotta say, why do people wallpaper, im a painter and decorator by trade, 15 years in the business, all wallpaper does is ruin your walls, its a curse to strip properly, if someone is gonna wallpaper a room i always advise them to put a couple of coats of cheap emulsion paint down first, when it comes to stripping the paper off it leaves an easier surface to wash down prior to painting as opposed to a bare wall.

It's kind of hard to get everything all in one camera shot with it being a small box room ;)

And yes, I'm thinking the desk will quickly become a dust trap, but I'm happy with it :D

// Edit - no thats not a used tissue in my computer room - it's one of those pledge wipe's used for cleaning up dust :p

This is not quite what I was expecting.

Care to elaborate?

I see you're point, the wallpaper I've put up is plain embossed paper. This is quite thick stuff and is the third type of paper I've tried. This is why it took me a week to decorate a small box room, the walls in my house are so bad that short of employing a plasterer to smooth them out my next best solution was thick paper painted to a colour of my choice.

I'd have paid for a plasterer to be honest. Probably wouldn't have cost that much more than that retro textured wallpaper surely, not to mention your week spent putting it up?
