Redfall (Co-op shooter)

I’d be interested to see those internal metrics? The game is a joke, a complete mess I’m surprised it’s scored as highly as it has as it should be down there with the XIII remake.
He was claiming the scores were double digits higher probably had them all playing on PC at above 60fps and avoiding areas of the game with major issues.

The AI is completely broken and the gfx are from 8 years ago. So unless they showed him Prey and plastered redfall on the logo. There is zero way it reviewed so high internally!

Phil Spencer's words not mine. I'm just trying to think of how it would have got the ratings he claimed it got internally.

Just saw Phil Spencer being interviewed on KFG's XCast. He said the poor reviews were a bit surprising, and that their internal metrics had predicted much better review scores for the game. It could all be bluster to appease fans, shareholders or whoever, sure... But if not I'd have a few concerns about XB going forward.
There are only 2 things I can deduce from this : either Phil Spencer is full of **** or the MS/Xbox internal management process isn't fit for purpose.

I fail to see how this would have reviewed well internally, unless it was just company super-fans or yes-men.

Everything they say is lies. It's the same song and dance after every disastrous AAA game that is knowingly launched in a broken low-effort state just to grab people's money, that's all they care about. Then we get the "we need to do better" postt, more excuses and flat out lies.

I read there was supposed to be a review embargo until 3 hours after launch, but someone broke it and the flood gates opened.

I'm sure they knew how terrible the game was going to be received, quick sell as many copies as possible before they find out... we can fix it later.
This launch makes daikatana look good, people claimed Cyberpunk was a bad launch.

Early access indy games have been more complete

The second map area is actually a fair bit better than the first, but you need to trudge through a good few hours to get there and even then it's not fantastic. There's multiple factions that seem to be fighting each other, and the Hollow Man boss encounter prior is actually a decent experience.

If there was some sort of testing audience? I wouldn't be surprised if it was literally just the lead up quest to the aforementioned boss fight and the intro section to the second world/map zone.

Exactly why I don't buy any of them. :D
Elden Ring was the last AAA I bought at release, and that was on PS4. For PC ports these days, they all need at least 6 months more in the oven. Better to buy them then, or even later, with hefty discount.
