The Tannoy's are a no brainer at that price, assuming the sound is to your taste. Or get the Zu's I used to have a pair of Druids and they were great sounding and beautiful looking but a bit ungainly size wise.
Got the Tannoys delivered today. Can’t quite make up my mind on them. They’re a little taller than my wife would like but is happy to put up with them (this is before I add an inch or so for spikes)
My main issue is they really feel like they’re missing something. No sure if it’s because they’re brand new and need running in but they sound a bit muddied when there’s a lot going on. Particularly the greatest showman opener which my wife put on almost instantly. Any chance you could see if you get the same?
Maybe it’s because the other speakers I’ve demoed have been at a higher end (though I believe these retailed around £1000 initially) but it certainly feels like a step down.
Going to have a play with placement over the next few days then make a decision I think.
