Rejoice, Rejoice! PM marries for the third time!

He's getting married because that's the sort of thing people do I guess.

It's bizarre that you've got a bee in your britches about this OP.

The man is responsible for the excess deaths in the UK due to the terrible Covid response and preparation. To not have a bee in the bonnet over it is more odd.

Caring about someone's relationship status, and caring about running of a country, are two very different things.

It concerns me that this seemingly isn't obvious.

The personal life of the head of government is clearly something of public interest. Some may disagree, but I find it hard to believe that anyone would be able to put forward a convincing argument that the things politicians do in private is of absolutely no interest/of zero consequence.

I really very much enjoy the (typically anti-tory type) people who go on about Boris' personal life in a negative way, who then say "meh, who cares, why is this even being mentioned?!".

Love him or loathe him, and I’m ambivalent, I imagine that he’s intelligent enough
to know the difference between your and you’re
This was touched on page 1 but it's likely that an Eton and Oxford-educated PM is probably not an idiot, regardless of how he presents himself, and in fact in direct opposition to how he chooses to share what we see, it'd be nice if he could do some good for the country and if that's by way of being (re)married then this is probably the part in the film that we nod and hope it works out.

Good luck to him, I say.

Sarcasm aside, why?

These are as well presented a summary of my thoughts on the matter as I could type myself, so I'll +1 it.

Why do I enjoy them?

Its all about morals, some have them, clearly lots dont. :)

Not sure what it is about the nonsense in this thread. You do realize you're proving my point right?

Frankly Johnson, although not as stupid as his critics would lead you to believe, is still not an intelligent man, even if he certainly is educated.
Johnson bought his way into prestige. I'm sure there was a genius in the making out there, wrongfully denied a place at Oxford due to this man.

^ No, but also yes. He was given 'prestige' by virtue of his background, his famiy wealth, and the opportunities that presents. I won't get into the intelligent/educated discussion; there are people far brighter than you and I who do that for a living. And it's not on him if he is accepted into schools when someone else, more appropriate perhaps, does not get in. That's the Board call, not ours.

Of course it’s important. I think the morals of a man who cheats on his wife multiple times with women he gives government money to whilst the nation could be preparing to attempt to prevent the deaths of 100k+ people should be under scrutiny both in terms of their public and private life, sadly, the press and public both seem to come to the conclusion that it doesn’t matter and actually, wheeeeeaaay, Bozza! Lad!!!

Then again he'll have saved some time for not having to confess for twice breaking apart a union

Indeed, the EU and the UK.

Is there a list of who people are allowed to have a dig at anywhere?

Upstanding, right thinking, plain speaking folk. Not the sort of people that would take offence if someone gave them a Golliwog "Because it reminded me of you".
