I don’t think there is anything wrong with what you are doing, I am much the same as yourself and quite relaxed when it comes to relationships and quite often girls have taken that as a sign im not interested, which in some cases it hasn’t been true. My current gf lives in Edinburgh so I usually go through at weekends and see her. We talk on the phone 2-3 times a week and text most days but it seems this isn’t enough for her, she keeps nagging about me not making an effort which annoys the hell out of me as I spend most weekends and a fair chunk of my wages on petrol and doing stuff with her at the weekends. I hate when girls send texts that don’t really have any point or meaning and then it says ‘text back’ at the end, it annoys me and I end up not texting back out of principle unless it’s something important. Don’t get me wrong I 99% of the time we spend together we get on great and I wish there wasn’t such a distance between us but the way she acts during the week is really starting to push me away.
I think this sums up how you feel perfectly, I don’t mean to sound harsh but if you feel you should be doing it and you don’t then I guess you don’t really like her as much as you think you do. I think its how I am starting to feel in my current relationship because if I was really 100% in love with her then texting and talking more often wouldn’t seem like a chore.
