Indeed. If supply is problematic and demand is rising because the competition don't appear to have anything that looks remotely troubling to this drive from a performance perspective then the price is going to go up, at least in the short term.

Yes i will be going else where now. The reason i didn't pre order is i'm moving next week so did not want the drive delivered to my old address.

Ordered mine on the 25th of Feb (the day they announced it) and I was the 1st to Facebook the 120gb version.. I hope I make the 1st batch... Still in warehouse queue for now ;-(

Good news is we now have a lot more stock coming, infact we now have 90% of the stock that was coming for the UK.

Further good news is everyone who pre-ordered a Vertex 3 120GB before March 31st will get their order, so thats everybody bar 3-4 customers.

Even better news is we have 240GB drives spare and all backorders will be fulfilled.

The bad news is I asked OCZ for an ETA as when will they arrive with me, the response been they are on the way, it appears they will be arriving today if were lucky but most likely Monday.

I was gonna order a vertex 3 from here but the price increase has made me look elsewhere. I think might I get one shipped from the states where it's nearly £150 cheaper then the crazy UK prices.

Although tbh I might just wait entirely, the drive is going into a 2011 MBP and I need the extra space + optical drive, so I might wait until the bigger drives come out with not as much cost per GB (yes i know im gonna be waiting a while and it's not an urgent purchase).

Just spoke to OCUK and they said the drives have not arrived today. So we are looking at sometime next week hopefully. Unless it was one big April Fools !
