Remaking Judge Dredd?

Yeah the original was ****

It wasn't ****. Just a cheese fest. It was a good usual run of the mill Hollywood action film adaption of a comic for the time (before they became as popular as they have in being churned out in the past decade), same with Spawn.

But it just wasn't the dark gritty world of Dredd. If you want to see the Dredd universe as how it's supposed to be depicted you're better off starting with MARK 13 (aka Hardware) which is based on the Shok! short comic. I have that on DVD and it came with a reprint of the Shok short artwork. It also stars Lemmy as a cab driver and Iggy Pop is a radio host.

Original film, effects were good, premise was good, Dredd without helmet?

FFUUUUUUUU!!!!

Oh and Stallone for extra FFUUUUU!! points.

Chris Cunningham did most of the animatronics for the original film. (Aphex Twin video director). I'd love to see him back and really let loose with how dark and twisted he could get.

Stallone would have been fine if he had just KEPT THE HELMET ON!!!

I enjoyed it myself, thought they did quite a good job of the city and stuff, Mean Angel was great though :D

Spot on Dano.

Dredd must keep his helmet on as any reader or fan will tell you. You don't see his face in any strip he has been in since he started in 1978 was it ?

I collect the Case Files series.

I used to have all the comics from prog 1(untill the better half threw a bunch out by mistake!) I think the closest they ever got to seeing Dredds face was one story where he was in the bath and some perps tried to break into his apartment....he didnt even get out the bath and still arrested them :D

Also they are remaking Total Recall which is out next year.

Yes and Spiderman.

Dredd takes his helmet off loads but you don't see his face in the comics. I still hope they stick to that rule without being silly. And please don't have a random ABC Warrior in it.

Total Recall could really do without the comedy acting.

Spiderman should be darker and the web swinging clips I've seen are just wow!

I quite liked the 1995 release due to being a Sylvester Stallone fan, as others have said though cheese Armageddon unfortunately! Going by those stills in the link I would like to think this will be a much darker version as apposed to the usual Hollywood jizz fest. Lets hope they do the comic justice.
