Remap question

If I was going to do it then I'd want a bluefin type arrangement as mentioned above. Tuning boxes aren't ideal and often don't actually give much /any more power plus in so.e modern cars they are a bit of a ballache to fit.

Just bung a £200 angel tuning map on it your just looking for a cheap power boost not to wring every last bhp out of it the generic angel maps are fine for otherwise standard cars and that's the route I'd be going down
In actual fact it is the route ill be going down next month with the new taxi also a peugeot 1.6 oil burner albeit in a partner teepee

I know it's not a powerful car, but it's woefully slow. And I know a map won't make it a rocket ship. However, it would be nice to have a little bit more power at little cost - 200-300 quid isn't a big investment for a 20-30% hike. Ultimately, I'm not paying for it, it's only a potential option, and unless I'm given a promotion (which is not likely) so as to get the next grade I might as well do it!

What is it just now, 115bhp? To be fair it might make a reasonable difference even if you get a 15% or so actual increase. Don't know how much you'll really notice on a commute unless you have a pretty quiet run to work.
If its free and at no risk to you though then its a bit of a no brained tbh - Peugeot are very unlikely to go looking for it, they may inadvertently wipe it though. (Honda have done this to mine)

I have a Bluefin and personally think that 95% of the reason for it is a more responsive engine with higher performance.
I would say that an extra 1mpg is nice, but more of a side benefit.
A generic remap probably won't improve the mpg enough to make it worthwhile for you, but then I am basing this on one car and one remap, yours could act completely differently. I know people with other brand vehicles to me have experienced a greater mpg gain.

ask for a different car
All the cars are 1.6 for tax / emission reasons *yawn* (unles you got a hybrid thing) - if I could change I would. However I end up earning money by having a company car (in terms of getting my fuel paid for my mileage), and I do so many miles I don't really want to buy my own, my car allowance is only around 4k so not really worried about getting that. At least I get a brand new car for a few years, it's serviced and looked after for me.
Most of the tuners I've spoken to thanks to your help have said around 140bhp after remap and over 220 lbft of torque - which is noticeable to me.
I'm not worried about the warranty or dealer - the FM is not a nob, and had said if the price is reasonable, and is happy with what is offered, he'd sort it all out.
IF this turns out to be too much of a fuss, I can just carry on without a care in the world. Ultimately, it's not my car, and don't really care about it - but if I'm going to get lumbered with something that is less pokey, might as well try and make it a little more pleasant to drive. The car itself is really nice (IMO) for what it is.

I personally am not interested in MPG as I get my fuel paid for me for work mileage. However, that's how I'm selling it - as an economy benefit.
My car has (/had shortly) a claimed 180ish map from a reputable tuner. I even have a dyno print somewhere to back this up.....however I doubt that is a good interpretation having had cars of similar power and weight in the past - its still vastly improved and significantly quicker with it on but I personally think its maybe +25 to30bhp rather than +40ish hence why i mentiined around 15% or so

And to be honest, that would be more than adequate. I can't remember the last time I drove a car with less than 140... let alone 112! Heck even my motorbikes had more power than that!! 
And now cars are so much heavier than they were 10-20 years ago that power makes a difference.
I'm hunting for a new job now anyway, so I'll be able to go back to commuting and having my own car instead!

they probably won't, they never found the faulty map on my 206 1.4 HDI back in 2006, I had it done by angel tuning I think they were called. The bloke cocked it up royally with a bad map and I had to call the RAC and act dumb.
The bad map put the car into limp mode and so when the RAC bloke came out he couldn't sort it and took me and the car down to peugeot. They sorted it as the car was under 3 years old so didn't cost me a penny
.Can't remember what peugeot said that came up on the diagnostics that caused it to go into limp mode. All I know is they didn't know it had a map on it or a attempted bad map.
