Remembering dreams/waking up from dreams...

I have had this experience (not a lucid dream) whereby my mind thinks im awake and i can hear everything around me, but my body is still asleep. Its really wierd, my breathing is completely automatic and i cant change it, i cant move anything and if i can it feels like im pulling a car.

To get out of it and try and go to sleep and force myself out of the dream.

Strange stuff, but kinda cool.

Another time, has only happened once, is when i woke up in the middle of the night, not late around 12.00am (this was when i was about 10 years old). I woke up and closed my eyes and about 1 second later it was day time. Really strange cause it wasn't like the curtains where closed and i thought it was night, it was really night and i closed my eyes for a second and opened them again and it was day.

I've had quite a few dreams where I know I'm dreaming but I can't do anything with it.
It would be great to be able to do anything I wanted.
My freakyness is that I go into REM as soon as I fall asleep and I even had a couple of weeks being tested at Keele University in the early 80's.
I've also dreamed solutions to things like computer problems or music chords I couldn't get quite right while awake.
I've also attended concerts by bands where my brain has made up the whole of the bands music.
Funnily enough when I'm dreaming I'm on stage the band never actually get to perform because things keep going wrong.

But isn't Sleep Paralysis completely different from Lucid Dreaming?

Yea it is. Just posting the condition that i have sometimes in relation to my other post.

I meant in general that this whole thread is very interesting about lucid dreaming :)

About a year ago I could always wake myself up from a dream when I wanted to. I'd tell myself to wake up in my dream and I would. Haven't been able to do it since, that person talking to me in the dream is gone :(
