Vodka works as it's pretty pure if you are in desperate need, but ISO or timclean is the best (Get yourself a big 5 gal of 99% iso on a popular auction site for £15 lasts forever and has so many applications not just removing TP)

Isopropanol and scrub hard with cotton buds till they dont turn black anymore...takes at least 10 but makes a big diff as gets rid of all the residue.
Chemists norm sell it...got mine 10 years ago and was only £5 for 500ml and still got about a quarter left

Always had the best results with Isopropyl. Well worth the money (cheap!)
I've tried various others in the past, including Akasa's terrible lemon scented stuff...
