Renegade-X (Command & Conquer: Renegade fan remake)

While re-downloading this was a stark reminder of how totalitarian the UK has become (bloody virgin media blocking the torrent mirrors of a perfectly legal piece of software) got there in the end

If you played (and enjoyed) CNC renegade this is worth a look.
Its pretty much the original, just on a newer engine.

p.s. Wouldn't say the original was that ahead of its time (Tribes springs to mind), just poorly supported on account of EA being in a hurry to "cut the cord" when they integrated westwood
 
I have been playing this since released and although not a fully polished game it is certainly a great re-creation of the original, being part of the beta group its safe to say new maps 3 of them will be coming out in the next update as well as a lot of performance changes and increase's which is great news.

Tank rush's do happen a lot more on a Marathon server (No time limit) which is what we are hosting at the minute and find them a lot more fun as it forces teamwork in order to win instead of people point whoring for 30-45 mins to win by a score and not by actually defeating the enemy base. If you fancy that more than welcome to come and try out a few games on the EKT servers which are busy every night.
