Renting with animals - why is it almost impossible?

That's like telling you to put your kids up for adoption, because they're causing issues in your life.
Yeah I get that - but just like kids it's going to cost you - but there is a key difference in that getting rid of your pets is legal. Sometimes life is just rubbish and you have to do things you don't want to do, or do what you want and own the consequences.

Why should he do that? People are inflicting pets on him, he's not the one changing the default.

It's a facetious comment at best. Point is everyone has pets - if you hate them so much go where no one will have pets.

Lol not everyone has pets at all. Pet ownership is not a requirement. It's a choice, one that comes with responsibilities to the animals and others around you.
Their responsibility is not to your pets. You seem to have this whole scenario back to front.

Fair view point. We've decided to just save for longer, and continue to pay th high rental we have now, until we have enough for a deposit to buy place.

No, if you've been following along - you'll see I am asking wy it's "NO PETS" not "Only X pets". If we had 1 small dog, the situation would be the same. I am not, for one moment disagreeing with landlords who don't want to take on 4 or 5 pets - completely understand. I am talking about not allowing any pets, whatsoever.
I like pets, but I don't want pets living next door crapping and yapping.

If I was a landlord I would not want a person that has pets to rent from me.
I wouldn't want to risk the possibly of damage, and having deal with it.

People need to understand everyone has their own conditions don't expect everyone to be like you.

You have to accept it, sorry.

What are you on about? Everyone does not have pets...

My local park has 4 to 5 people with two or more dogs, every day I go down there. So lots of people have pets. I didn't mean it literally, of course.

4 to 5 people is not everyone. People with two or more dogs will be an absolute minority. Only 28% of UK adults have a dog, and most will only have one.

What classes as a small dog? A big dog? Does two small dogs equal a medium dog?

Well, it would be hard to argue a sausage dog is a medium or big dog...

Of course and people need to be more tolerant and find compromises. Why do your preferences as a tenant outweigh mine, as a tenant?

Did you read the part where I said I did not mean it literally? I didn't google stats I go off anecdotal evidence (Which isnt great conclusive of course) and look at bills government is introducing to come to the conclusion that its clearly an issue.

Anyway, we are going around in circles here - whether everyone 9Literally or otherwise) have pets or not, is not the point here.

My compromise is you can move 1 mile away.

Or I'll let my howler monkeys, white bellbirds, randy pigs bonking at 3am, and skunks spraying into the ventilation into the apartment, do whatever they like and you have to be tolerant.

Then don't say everyone has pets in support of your argument when it's obviously not the case.

And base your arguments on better evidence than anecdotes.

The only one not getting it in this thread is you. Literally nobody agrees with what you're arguing for.

Because their preferences aren't going to cause damage to someone else's property. Why is this concept so hard for you to get your head around?

No, if you read and followed along properly - their prefernece is not having "yapping" dogs. Not "destructive" dogs. They dont want pets near them for that reason, as a tenant.

Please try keep up. Its exhausting.

Literally, no one? So you've asked literally everyone on these forums?

How can you guarantee your dogs aren't yappers?

Did you get their voice cords surgically removed?
