The plan was to upgrade to a SD37P2 but the review has well put me off.

So..........

I am after a Sff/,mini ATX case(would be happy if it took full size ATX mobo..that I can base my new Gameing rig on....Why small...well I run Lan parties so the PC need to be portable so not to big i.e. NO FULL TOWERS!!!

I am planning to use a conroe CPU and a ATI X1900XT (dual Slot which I already own)

SO ideas will be welcome

Nicest looking small case IMO is the Lian Li V300, black or silver, which ever you prefer. Needs a mAtx mobo like any case close to shuttle size. You'll need to do a little cutting though for your big graphics card, the 3.5" floppy cage is in the way of 9" graphics cards, just a bit of dremeling to cut a slot will fix it.

Other options are the Sugo and X-Qpack.

What about a super lanboy? Not totally full size, can take full size atx and comes with carrying strap also light enough to take to LAN parties.

here is a list of small cases you could use

------------

Silverstone Sugo SG01 Evolution ( Black or Silver )

Silverstone Temjin TJ08 ( Black or Silver )

Lian-Li PC-V300 ( Black or Silver )

Lian-Li PC-V600 ( Black or Silver )

Antec Super LANBOY ( Silver )

------------

V600 is not really worth considering for what you will want.

The Lanboy or TJ08 would get my money, the Lanboy first due to the price.

Right Had a look at this lot first thoughts

Lanboy...I just don't like it.....only thing is the price

TJ08..I really like them not bad for £70 and really not toooooo big..I do have a nice PSU so that a plus

SG01...A rather nice small Case though I like the TJ more this is more likly as it is a small case..£90 not to bad at all

V300...nice idea about the drives comming out the side..but I am starting to like it
v600 again it nice case..but the smaller case above seem the way to go

anyone got a v300 or sg01....would you mind posting some pics of them please

v300 is more awkward to use than a Sugo, and does not cools aswell. Need to pick your graphics and PSU very carefully for the v300.

Here is my Sugo Evolution. :)

Id take the Sugo personally.

Says something, as me and Lian Li well!

Just the Sugo suits the rigs I would want to run more than the v300, althought the v300 is built and looks better, its also all aluminium and the Sugo is not.

Here's my V300, nothing in it in those pics though, could post some photo's tomorrow, showing a 6600GT in place, and a HDD :o

With the price of the V300, it seems better value than the Sugo, I think. I've heard of the front bezels on the Sugo having ugly little gaps.

yo Yewen m8 :)

same here i like the looks of both cases, but the sugos the 1 for me

mm yewen will a Lian Li C-01B Aluminium CD-ROM/DVD-ROM Bezel fit ok in a sugo?
im sure it will but it will have to be moded right? :)

Got it in one, will need to be modded.

Is possible, though it may be to wide thinking about it.

Let me get back to you tommorrow on that one, will have a look for you!

Currently in same predicament as you. After a mobile Cure Duo set up after being informed by Shuttle that SD12G5 isn't being release.

Don't think I'd like a tower (TJ08) sitting on my desk due to interfering with panoramic view. And don't like the increased size of the other cases.

Edit: Removed link to another forum had showed pictures comparion on V300, Sugo, and Shuttle G5 cases. Though not commercial site or in the same country, address was filtered. Guess it counts as a competitor.

OK best case I can think of is SUGO, I have one, since your using a low powerd CPU I suggest getting the NT06 Silverstone Cooler and a good PSU with 120MM fan, that way you can run the CPU with a Passive NT06 and the PSU fan will draw the air from the heatsink...the Sugo has good HD and expansion card cooling, I have one, but my CPU runs hot with the Nt06 Cooler but it is a Pentium D 830, yours should run fine..easily under the 60's at full load..which is fine...

Edit out that link. Please do no hotlink images aswell.

Don't try and run a passive CPU unless you have a passive heatsink, several other heatsinks you can use that wont result in unstable temperatures that fit in a Sugo / Sugo Evo.

The NT06 keep an X2 4800 running under 60 Degrees at full load, so should be even better for conroe...

Without a fan on the heatsink?

The HSF is designed for the fan to push air across it, if you use your PSU fan to cool it that is usually temperature controlled in the PSU it sucks the air, its not a good cooling solution and most certainly instantly voids the warranty on the mobo, CPU and PSU.

The Silverstone Nitrogen 03 is a better bet, then you are actually able to get fans on it, also Orb coolers fit in and Borg heatpipe coolers should do, but I know of nobody who has actually used one.

NT06 is designed to have a fan on it, its not designed to be passive and rely on case airflow. AT ALL.

Silversotne designed it for that to fit in the SUGO, you can even speak to one of there technitians about it, I have a test report on it installed in a SUGO, it is hte best cooler for the SUGO, the NT03 is a pain...it's so loud..,

But is the NT06 designed to be passive? No.

No CPU cooler can depend upon the PSU to cool it, that is just to risky for both the PSU and CPU.

If you say otherwise I will talk to one of them about it. :)

CPU cooler running on a PSU for cooling is not mATX form factor specifications and they list the cooler as complying with them.

Of course not, but the PSU is literally sitting on top of the heatsink, anyway my TAGAN is still running pulling hot air form a 130WATT CPU..oh speak to Jurek..add him to your MSN, he works for Silverstone...
