Not sure a naked bike will suit me too well for my motorway rides.

A good lock and chain does nothing against the professional thief who turns up with a mate and an angle grinder as was the case with my bike.
You're right about it dictating my choices though, but I didn't realise how bad I'd be feeling about it until my bike was stolen.

A 16mm pragmasis chain will take them nearly 20 minutes to cut through with a battery powered grinder.
And require 2 changes of cutting disk.

Which is certainly better than having nothing at all.

Alternatives I've been thinking of are TDM900, Multistrada 1000.

These are all "adventure" styled bikes that aren't really very different from your Super Tenere.

The really high theft rates are for super motard/ enduro styled bikes, stinky little scrotes seem to love screaming around sink estates in these.
