Replacement for Classic Shell?

Irc, win7 didn't really offer that much customisation? I've actually forgotten, though creating a default profile was far less time consuming (perhaps through less customisation :p).

To be fair yeah Windows 7 is a bit limited but it does have some more advanced options hidden away including some of the folder customisation panels, etc. and then there is the "god mode" (.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}) options plus it does facilitate tinkering under the hood in a way that Windows 10 doesn't.

God mode works for win10 as well :) though its not quite as featured as win7 no doubt but for the most part there not really settings youd need/want for a normal desktop environment. I've always found gpedit.msc a far more useful command

edit - just noticed gpedit is not available in home, does god mode work?

7 has some advanced customisation options in there that aren't present in 10 though a lot of the stuff in "god mode" isn't particularly useful and yeah done better by gpedit when it comes to system administration type stuff.
