checking out some other benchmarks, the 470 even beats the 5870 in some tests on lower resolutions. which is good for me, as i generally use my hdtv for gaming, so great deal.

would be very happy to approach those heaven scores, should improve on the 5850 it's replaced.

Thats an awesome case. thats the thing i wish i'd thought a bit more about- a bigger case. Went with the 430 elite windowed, its fine enough, but no cable management

no, not at all. i'm happy with it for the price certainly, but it is a little bit cramped. wasn't much space for the cables coming out of the back of my 5850, bunched up against the hdd cables and odd cables.
It's not a bad case though by any means for the price. Especially for my first build. i like the toolless design.

btw, i called oc a few minutes ago to ask about a mini hdmi adapter and they reckon it doesn't come with one as it's B grade, the guy i spoke to wasn't sure though.
I wouldn't be suprised if it did come with one. Not a big deal if it doesn't anyway for the moment.

Right, got my GTX 470 now, can't believe how loud it is when idle compared to the 5850 it replaced.

I've used afterburner to set the fan to run at 30% pretty much most of the time until it gets to about 70degrees, but even at 30% it is very loud, especially when watching a video on tv, whilst browsing on monitor. I don't think i could leave it on all night like i did with the 5850!!

I have a couple of questions about it, but i'll start with this one-

should there be a big difference in temps when extending the desktop on 2 screens, as when i just have the monitor, it is idle at about 30degrees, but when i connect tv and extend the display, it goes up to abouyt 55 idle. compare it to the 5850, which would remain at idle 30ish with 1 or 2 monitors with extended disply?

cheers
