I'm just about getting by with my Q6600 based PC which I first built in Jan 2008. Since then, it's had a GPU upgrade along with some extra RAM, but I think it's time it got a complete rebuild.
Firstly, the primary use of it will be Photoshop and gaming, and I'd like to be able to play more of the current games in high detail
. I'm not likely to overclock the CPU, so would rather spend more on the CPU than the graphics card, which is easier to swap out in a couple of years time.
Secondly, I won't need a case (Cooler Master RC-1000), keyboard, mouse, optical drive, monitor, or a copy of Windows. My PSU is a Cooler Master GX 550W '80 Plus Bronze' (purchased Dec 2011), will that be OK?
Thirdly, I'll need an SSD (Cruical MX100 256Gb?) for boot, OS & apps, but I already have another drive for data and backup.
Finally, and most importantly, my budget is around £550. (definitely no more than £600)
Any suggestions and specs will be appreciated
