Replacing an aging Q6600 PC - build spec help required

I'm just about getting by with my Q6600 based PC which I first built in Jan 2008. Since then, it's had a GPU upgrade along with some extra RAM, but I think it's time it got a complete rebuild.

Firstly, the primary use of it will be Photoshop and gaming, and I'd like to be able to play more of the current games in high detail :). I'm not likely to overclock the CPU, so would rather spend more on the CPU than the graphics card, which is easier to swap out in a couple of years time.

Secondly, I won't need a case (Cooler Master RC-1000), keyboard, mouse, optical drive, monitor, or a copy of Windows. My PSU is a Cooler Master GX 550W '80 Plus Bronze' (purchased Dec 2011), will that be OK?

Thirdly, I'll need an SSD (Cruical MX100 256Gb?) for boot, OS & apps, but I already have another drive for data and backup.

Finally, and most importantly, my budget is around £550. (definitely no more than £600)

Any suggestions and specs will be appreciated :).

Do you already have an SSD? if not, then it will massively boost the performance for your PC, also what's your current gpu?
I did have an SSD which was used for the OS, but it died a couple of weeks ago, and I still have a 120Gb SSD for Steam (games). My data drive is Western Digital Caviar Black 1Tb as I have over 250Gb of photos, as well as a load of other data. An SSD would be great for all of that, but at the moment I'm just after an SSD for the OS and applications.
Current GPU is Asus ATI Radeon HD 5770.

If your not really intent on spending cash, I would suggest getting another ssd for your o/s and general program usage and gpu upgrade, that set up should see you through for a little while longer.

But the little build Lemin suggested is pretty much spot on and see you through for several years.

Me, i'd probably take the new build and not worry about it for a long time.
