It surprises me that an apple can have up to 10g of sugar and a quick Google search would suggest the recommended daily intake is 37.5g of sugar, 3 or 4 apples later and you've stuffed it!
Fructose is Fructose, No matter where it comes from. The human body cant cope with the amount of sugar we take in the west even in the lets be healthy fruit.. Orange juice is not healthy by the way

Its not surprising to me. What I would be interested in is sugar levels a hundred or a thousand years ago. I bet they were far lower due to selective breading
to improve taste. Trouble is modern farming has made most foods worst, chickens are far higher in fat, fruits and veg are far higher in sugar, bitter foods have been de-bitterfied. But those bitter tastes make up antioxidants, so on and so forth. On top of that were mainly sentry creatures these days. Where even 5 decades ago we were on are feet a hell of a lot more and walking a lot more per day.
And people who say its as simple as calories in calories out need to stop sprouting myths. A few basic things include insulin response and how much of the food you break down. Poor insulin response can make your blood sugars crash and thus make you hungry, eating unprocessed food can in some cases lower available calories by 40%+
And I wish nuts came in 50g packs not your days to get at services and everywhere else 75-100g packs.
Everything in moderation. Just because it's healthy doesn't mean you should eat half the bag
Once a guy at work, who pretty much has a couple of energy drinks (the big ones, like Monster) and something else unhealthy every day for his lunch bought a 6 pack of apples and proceeded to eat every single one. He said it's because 'they're healthy, right?'.
