Request help for buying gaming PC (budget £3000)

3 4k monitors :o lol.

I'd just stick with a single 1440p 144hz or 3 1080p 144hz. 2x 980Tis would be required for a comfortable 60 on 4k never mind 3 4k monitors. That's 3-4 titan x's.

Either way I'd drop the Tx and get a 980Ti. Even for 4k 2 Ti's don't run out of Vram.

If you want to go all out, then something like this would be good. A single GTX 980 ti would run 1440p pretty well though if you wanted to start with one gpu.

Or you could save some money by going for a Skylake build.

Actually, I disagree with the dissing of 3x 4K monitors. Game on one; use the other two in portrait mode for text. I have 1x 4K and 2x 1200p monitors and I'm giving serious thought to replacing the portrait-mode 1200p monitors with 4K monitors for the better text rendition.

The op already has 2 x 27" 1080p monitors so they could be used either side for browsing the net etc. The main monitor can be changed to 4K if the op wants that, as I already included 2 x 980 ti's in both builds.

lol i know im not a fully pledged expert and i know the op only stated 90% gaming, but i went with 2nd post assumption of 144 or 4k, so thought i would throw 4k in for the budget otherwise would be just throwing things together and i wouldnt go for a titan as it seems stupid money, but with the available ports and 12gb it would be decent for 4k whether its maxed or not and if you want to be the ultimate gamer(which you must do with a 3k budget) so to speak then you aim high, the op didnt state trying anything, so didnt want to push 4 970's or 980's down this throat with 3 decent monitors to keep in budget ;)

the op can spend whatever he likes, i just tried 4k for the ultimate lol

So I'm looking at buying a new gaming PC and a lot of friends have said to buy a alienware area 51 but I wanted to get some advice before doing so.

So my budget is £3000 and it's gonna be 90% used for gaming. If the casing looks great thats a bonus. ;)

Thanks in advance

What do you this to this?

We can build you one of these in the default specification for £3000 inc VAT delivered.

Either way, this is a good place to start the conversation. If you don't like it, what would you like to change? I'm sure that we have a system to fit your needs, we just need to narrow down your likes & dislikes.

WoW gents thanks for all the input. quite overwhelming. i think your right in saying if im gonna get a high spec PC I should have a monitor that can produce goods too. :P

An 8pack pre-overclocked bundle.

The Gaming 5P board has a Creative Sound Core3D and fancy audio grade Nichicon Capacitors.

The Gigabyte Xtreme GFX card is one of the best, 0db fan mode at idle and has special Titan grade chokes to prevent coil whine, RGB lighting system to match almost any theme.

Like the Dell one you linked?

Either the Dell or just go for 4K with the Acer Predator.

Here is another build using the Gigabyte cards.

Swapped the Corsair psu to the RMi model as it has a better fan.

The H110i GT can be run in quiet mode.

As mentioned by Stulid the Gigabyte cards have zero fan mode, so when you are not gaming/under low load then they will be silent.

Here is with SLI and a 4K screen,

This PSU has an "ECO" fan mode so the fan switches off under a certain temperature, a bit like this,

The Phanteks Enthoo Luxe case has an RGB lighting system.

The Braided cables are an option extra for added "bling".

Not sure how this got derailed this to talk of monitors but it wasn't the OP.

I've spoken to him, his monitor is fine, it's not even old. It's a current model Asus gaming panel.

He made his position pretty clear early on
I wouldn't be great at building my own. I think if I could get some guidance maybe on the pre built pack page ones but maybe changing a few fews if necessary.

I don't need a monitor or keyboard etc. Just the desktop.
So it's frustrating to see that he is still having contrary opinions pushed onto him.

According to post #21 He has 2 of these 1080p screens -

If I was dropping £3K on a new system, then I would expect to get a 1440p or 4K monitor in there.

Also I did mention in my post #6 that you guys could build him something to his own spec if he didn't feel comfortable building it himself.
