Hi :)

I've got an XSPC D5 dual bay res which has developed a leak so I need to replace it.

Whilst the bay res looks nice it is a pain to work with when I need to empty the loop etc so wanted to replace it with a tube res.

Can I use the D5 pump from my dual bay res with this XSPC Photon 170 tube res?

Hey, yes the tube res will fit any d5 or ddc but not into 1 unit like this you will have to use a pump top and connect them with tubing between the 2 as I cant see the different bottom for the res on ocuk

Yeah I noticed that too which is a bit disappointing really as the Photon 170 combo pump top looks nice and neat and I don't really want the additional tubing.

Might get the combo if I can't source the pump top that comes with that combo.

Im pretty sure you cant if you look at the two side buy side they are made different, the one you looking at is meant to be used with a separate pump

OK if you don't want to have two spereate units, then splurge and get the pre made photon +d5 combo and keep your d5 bay res as a spare to test any new components you get
