Howdy,

I am a HUGE Resident Evil fan, and must have completed Resident Evil 4 bout 50 times on the GC, but I still ordered my copy for the PC... unfortuntely I only realised it was being released today at 5:30 yesterday, so quickly ordered my copy from (somewhere I won't say) but I won't get that til tomorrow.

Just wondered if anyone has it on the PC here? And if the graphics are bumped at all? Or is it pretty much a straight port from the PS2 version?

What I'd love to see is a screengrab of the game? Anyone?

i heard it looks like the ps2 version so god awful :(
the gc version rocked what brilliant game :)

God I hope it runs in higher res that 640x480 :( !!! If not, ebay will be getting another item on its list!

Have a forum search for a recent thread on it, there were a few links posted which contained screenshots apparently from the final build, and it looked terrible :( The PS2 version looked better, what let the PC version down was that there seemed to be no lighting effects at all.

It's a shame as I really want to see what's so special about this game.

From what I seem it did seem to lack the lighting effects of the other versions and also no mouse support what so ever.

All I can say is unlike the ps2 port the pc screens look really sharp, the ps2 shots looked blurry in comparison.

there is a small program you can use that allows mouse support

This program made specifically for Resi 4? Or a general third party tool that allows mouse support on everything? More details please!

its not a game i have just know peeps who mentioned it, look for BioRes4MouseFix , but dont ask me how it works

You the man, shame your a Liverpool fan, but you the man :)

I own both copies o the PC and Gamecube version (both are connected to my 21" vga monitor) and the gamecube version is VASTLY superior to the PC version visually. The PC game looks like it's a voodoo gfx era game (pre 1999), with no light sources and dysmal textures (taken from the not so good looking PS2 version).
Man... the port was so horrible i destroyed the dvd in the microwave oven. Now that's quality fun. (was cheap so i don't care... much! )

Taken from some other forums.

Edit:

A little more research reveals that this is a port of the PS2 version and that the cut scenes are prerendered and even more compressed than the PS2 ones. Over all no where near the quality of the original in-game renderings seen on the game cube.

oh dear, you reckon there will be mods to this game? Like there was for Oblivion, where users will create the atmosphere, obviously cos UBI SOft couldn't be bothered to?

i got resident evil last nite and tbh im very dissapointed the visuals are so bad i can produce better with me arse, even upping the resolution doesnt help, its better on gamecube

well im not to exciting bout playing it now then. I have been playing Resi 4 for the GC thru my Wii recently, via component of course and it looks pretty good. But I thought the PC one would be better, so didn't even think bout it, I just oredered it... mistake I feel :)

it is very poor tbh considering the power of the new cards theres no spooky feel to it anymore doesnt make you feel o crap when something goes wrong

if you've already got it on GC, why buy it on PC too?

Well I thought it would be better on the PC and I love the game so much, i want to get the best out of it.

But more importantly, I have the Resident Evil 4 Special Edition Silver GameCube, but I also have a Wii. So I want to flog my GC, but as its a special Resident Evil 4 one, I can't really sell it without Resi 4, so I was going to get it on the PC (cos I thought it would be better as mentioned above), therefore freeing up my GC version, allowing me to flog my GC. That was the reason.

And annoyingly I will have two copies of this coming thru my door tomorrow

I originally ordered from a place with a really crappy website (I'm sure you know who I am talking about) but with better prices, but as it was a preorder I added it to my list, and for the life of me couldn't see how to confirm the order and buy it? So I gave up and went elsewhere and bought it.

Well I just got an email from this first place thanking me for my order I though I never purchased! I tried to cancel it with the other place, but that has already been picked, so I will have two copies now :)

Oh well, one WILL be going on ebay!

Has anyone here, who's got this game tried the mouse aim mod mentioned above?

I've done EVERYTHING it tells me to do, but the mouse will not respond in game? It just wont work? Anyone got it working?
