Me too I hope that they actually are working on a new game like a remake of RE2 or the RE4 prototype they were working on and they scrapped.

If Capcom should remake the second game, I hope they don't recycle any of the original game's assets. We should not only see a graphical rework, but also a complete overhaul with the audio etc.

2 is just amazing really...especially the second play through due to the "stalking" throughout, kept the game so tense!
At this rate they'll end up remaking 3 before 2

Stalking in 2? That was the nemesis guy in 3.

No, in Scenario B of Resident Evil 2 you get Mr. X chasing you around, he's basically the prototype Nemesis.
That's the one...added to the intensity in the 2nd play through majorly and was much better than Nemisis
Mr X - the only time I have ever turned off a video game in fear
It's the one time I've ever been truly on edge playing a game...was a struggle to see it through to the end!
Literally paused before every door as I expected the worst.
It is this which Resident Evil since RE4 has lost for me. I want it back!
I will not hold my breath, but hoping Revelations 2 brings it partway back

I re-played the PS1 version of Resident Evil last Christmas for the first time since it came out and it was great. After you get over the graphics (or lack of) its just great survival horror. I had planned on replaying the Gamecube version this xmas but I think I'll put it off andjust play this one instead.
It does look like its going to be a nice experience. The increase in resolution looks to be making a big difference, massive to be honest. Those slider images on the Gamespot page look beautiful.

Yeah, I agree. Day 1 purchase for me (hardly ever do that).

I had to stop reading the comments after the first 10 or so, nothing but a bunch of clueless whining! Someone said that they've just put ENB filters over it despite the fact that has nothing to do with the textures.
So many people love to write stuff online like they really know what they are talking about. lol. I particularly like what they have done with the 3D stuff like for example certain trees and grass that were not like that in the original. Hell I would have been happy if they just did half the things they have done just to have it in my steam collection.
I hope it sells well and they do the same for Resident Evil 0 and Veronica. If those do well to, never know they may treat us to Resident Evil 2 and 3, but I will not hold my breath on those
