Resistance 3

Really bad AI - didn't see this tbh. thought they were pretty good
To me it just seemed like all the AI wanted to do was either run at me firing or stand completely stationary firing. Other than that it was almost impossible to sneak up on enemies or use any kind of tactics because the chimera seemed to have exceptionally good eyesight and some kind of sixth sense, as soon as you get anywhere near a group they all just start pelting you with gunfire instantaneously.

Annoying health system - what was bad?
It was not balanced on normal difficulty, it only regenerated a quarter of your health and a quarter of your health is only enough to take maybe 3 or 4 bullets sometimes leaving you cowering around corners 99% of the time.

Terrible checkpoints - Wut? They were great imo
Great? If I died I ended up playing massive sections of a level over and over. Not fun in anyway and no good if you want to tell a story. Especially infuriating when some enemies can 1 shot you.

Enemies who shot at you through walls without being able to see you, at least in R2 you can shoot back - Auger
See above, walking into a room where there were augers and hybrids is why I think they coined the phrase "out of the frying pan and into the fire", you can't stand and shoot because you have so little health, you can't take cover because cover is useless.

A gunner on the back of your jeep that couldn't hit the floor if he fell on it - Make the game harder for you + play co-op
So what you're saying is that the devs intentionally made that section of the game infuriating? That's even worse, games that offer co-op should balance out when playing solo.

A story that whilst OK, really never grabbed me, mainly due to the fact there were no twists or reveals - No twists?
No... Care to elaborate? I always felt like there was something they were going to show me, but never did.

In summary, a lot of the problems with FOM could have been solved by having an appropriate health system or more tactical enemies.

i only play multiplayer so i dont even know what single player is like on most games.

for me resistance multiplayer > killzone multiplayer

warhawk was good too but hardly anyone bought it or used headsets, im hoping starhawk is a massive success.

resistance is good, just needs fine tuning a bit.

You never played online did you :P They have a 6th sense of seeing through walls :P

I completed the game on super human (completed the game 7 times in all, 2 on superhuman) and found that health is really not an issue. I found I had enough (unless I get 4 auger shots :@). Just shoot and hide, shoot and hide.

Once again, I never saw it. For me, I got through it 'easily'

Auger was a strong gun, but had a low rate of fire and small clip. Thats why you are given stuff such as air fuel grenade and hedgehog grenade :P

They made it so that your team mates don't do everything. Once I was playing a game, forgot what it was, and some1 called me, and I didn't have time to pause, I hid, as I came back, all enemies were dead :S is stupid like that imo.

I found it had a few twists. When you are taken by those cockroaches was the very first.

Each to their own I guess, and we will never agree. I found RFoM very enjoyable, in fact, i was on it 30 minutes ago (for like 2 hours).

CTF SOMERSET <3

Was at the cinema yesterday as there was an advert for Battle:Los Angeles said there would be a resistance 3 demo with the blu-ray version.

Order Battle: Los Angeles on Blu-ray and you will receive a free demo of Resistance 3 for the Playstation 3. The Blu-ray release will include a code in-pack that can be used to download the R3 demo directly from the Playstation Store (internet connection required), see package for terms & conditions.

Probs for the beta.

I got myself a BETA key, and in my oppinion, (as you know, I'm an RFoM fanboy) I'd give it a 3/10. Nearly nothing went back to RFoM standards. I'll be buying for t he story, maxing out multiplayer (cause I feel obliged :D) and will leave it there, finishing my R3 collection.

First review is up on joystiq, they give it 4 1/2 out of 5 for those that can't actually be bothered to read the review itself :p

First review I saw was Eurogamer. :p They gave it 8/10. I'm going for this instead of Dead Island now.

Just watched the IGN review (thanks for the heads up) definite purchase for me now. Didn't like either of the previous games but this one looks much better roll on Friday :)

Picked up my copy yesterday and was glued to the single player campaign for a good 3 hours, really enjoying it so far, even though I actually enjoyed the second game I have to admit being able to pickup more than two weapons again is much better.

Keeping my fingers crossed that I get this sent from Boomerang. They let me down last week with Driver. What does the online pass in this game do? What can't you do without it?

I think i may rent this game. I was an avid Resistance fan but there is something rather lacklustre about this one. Not sure why. Will watch more videos of it and see.
