Resistance 3

If your internet is down it won't detect a patch is needed so you will be fine to start playing the campaign, I believe all the fixes are for the multiplayer side of things anyway, probably stuff picked up from the late beta testing.

Have to admit I am finding the graphics excellent even if reviews say they are good but nothing special, I know the textures might not be amazing, but the lighting, patricle effects, amount of debris, rocks etc (rather than flat ground textures) is really making games look great, can't wait to see what they can pull out of the PS4.

Haven't played much today but I'm up to chapter 4 and I'm enjoying it, the diverse range of weapons is particularly cool when compared with the bog standard ones found in most FPS' these days. Proper old school shooter this :)

I've literally just read the first journal on the table - the game seems to have an interesting twist to it now.

But I'm wondering - some of the events mentioned in Resistance 2 like the rifts opening in space and warships and colonists disappearing through - is this something expanded on in R3 or just brushed under the carpet and ignored.

And what about the 'Cloven'. They've been mentioned in both previous games but never been shown...

the new weapons are fun to use, and i'm glad they have put in gun level upgrades. I only just finished R2 the other night and then straight onto this, so far all is good fun

Anyone using a Sharpshooter/move on this? And is the calibration better than KZ3?

Not tried myself, but KZ3 was fine with move once you followed what you needed to do on the iwaggle website, have heard that this isnt as well implemented though.

I like the refinement to the weapons now. The Auger actually works like it should. Only took three games to get it right. :D

The graphics are strange though. They make my eyes hurt for some reason. I think there's some kind of weird anti-aliasing going on.

I tried everything but it would always lose calibration.

Every person that has said theirs works fine has failed to provide a video proving otherwise.

Looked at the iwaggle site? This may help you find what you need http://www.iwaggle3d.com/search/label/Killzone 3
Also have you tried it after you tried to cal the controllers on the xmb to reset the magnometers etc?

Whats this game like? in terms of comparison to R1 or R2. I thought R2 was a piece of crap totally awful game, but I thought R1 rocked big time. Considering getting it but after R2 im not sure?

I would definitely recommend it, enjoying it more than pretty much all shooters I've played in the last couple of years, this is based purely on single player, I don't mp much in fps games.
